caling 0800 from O2 cost money!?

Hi there,

Yesterday I tried to call NTL 0800 customer service number from my O2 phone, after I hit send there was a recorded voice saying that the number is not free from mobile and ask me to redial again without the first zero. I did just that.

and today when I checked my bill online, my current outstanding balance stands at 0.74 pounds.

So just wondered is it true that the 0800 number isnt free from O2 phone?

0800 numbers have never been free from o2.

Its only Free if you have inclusive x-net contract minutes or if you have got O2 payg bolt on or inclusive x-net minutes. Otherwise they charge.

I got x-net mins on 02 and if i dial an 0800 number i get charged.

Its not free, its part of the inclusive minutes.

Depending on where and who you signed your o2 contract with it can mean that the 0800 is not part of your inclusive minutes. A post last month with another member, working for Phones 4U said that the 0800 number does not come out of your inclusive minutes, to my suprise. This is what O2 small print says.

"Inclusive call minutes can be used to call some non-geographical and special services numbers with the following prefixes: 0800, 0808, 0844, 0845 and 0870. Once the inclusive minute allowance has been used up, calls to these numbers will be charged as calls to standard UK landlines at the prevailing tariff. Some exceptions may apply and calls to some numbers may be free of charge"

If you have inclusive cross network minutes on Orange some 07744 suppliers allow you to access 0800/0808/0845/0870 numbers.

The P4U website however states that 0800 calls can be made as part of your monthly allowance of minutes.

So which service provider do P4U use for O2 connections these days? If they are connecting directly with O2 then the Ts and Cs for the tariff should be the same as if you went straight to the network.

At least Singlepoint doesn't exist any more!
