The Philllips mp3 player is £79.99 with £50 discount, so £29.99 plus VAT.

Received the electronic coupon today. Guess when I registered the last time, I didn't opt for receiving further email from costco.

Thats exactly the point I was trying to make. Official insert and Weekly email stated that it was for business owners only.

It isn't hard to get a Costco membership.

Sorry Gordon, I wasn't contradicting you, just emphasising your point. I was letting forum readers who aren't civil servants, police etc that it's worth just going and asking if they'll let you join.

The other alternative is being added to another cardholders membership (£12 + VAT a year I seem to remember)

    Cheers

Does anyone have a link to get any of these vouchers online? I've tried emailing costco customer svcs but I think they've gone home for the weekend!

Dear all above ground pool owners (particularly those with heaters),

Many high street retailers are happy to sell cheap above ground pools without the all important pool chemicals.

Heated pools with a relatively low gallonage are breeding grounds for bacteria, it is absolutely essential when you buy your pool you also purchase a test kit and the necessary sanitiser (normally chlorine) to ensure the well-being of all pool users.

Most pool suppliers will also sell you a starter pack (approx £30) that includes a test kit or test strips, chlorine granules, algaecide, pH+, pH- and an all important set of instructions.

Pools are fantastic fun but the health risks must be taken seriously!

    Dear 12 watch and all
    totally agree with the above
just for info netto are doing a 12 foot pool for £49.99 but no mention of chemicals!!!

we filled ours up before the hosepipe ban thinking it would apply however we discovered it didn't apply to pools
so far the hubby to be and kids have been in 3 times this week!!!

what fun but i am still testing almost every day
  • Just bumbing this thread up, I was hoping to find some info out about pool heaters, we have a 15ft x 10ft 3ft 6ins deep pool, that because of this silly summer is still freezing cold, we were looking to get a heater for it, but is it worth it? will it warm the pool up that much? do they cost and arm and a leg to run?

Just reading this old thread notice a few people commenting on keeping water clean, this is what I do, every day I test strip the pool, I add 4 tablespoons of chlorine in every other day, I also add cleanwater algae preventor into the pool every week. I run the filter every time I add chlorine and I also skim the surface every day for flies etc, I have the last few days had a brain wave and tied one of my daughters school shirts to the water return pump, this collects all the dirty tiny bits the filter misses, its amazing how much it collected over one day, our pool is crystal clear however has only been used 3 times so far this year.
