  • I have just joined Bare and they are asking for my bank details even though I said I wanted to be paid through Paypal, what should I do? Reluctant to provided my bank details at this stage.

Reluctant to provided my bank details at this stage.

    Why?

I don't think they pay by Paypal, I think that question/option is just generic in the SASSIE system (that many MS companies use, mainly in the USA, but not exclusively in the USA).

If you don't want to give them your bank details, how do you expect them to pay you?

I thought that the RE debate had been put to bed a couple of days ago, so is there really any need to keep bringing it up? Surely at the end of the day it is still a matter of personal choice what jobs you select and complete for RE, or any other MS Company for that matter. That's the beauty of self selection isn't it?

Do you ever pay for anything by cheque? When you do, you are giving your bank details out as your sort code, account number and name are on your cheques. Giving bank details to Bare is just the same!

On another note ... Anyone having problems getting into GR today?

I have been asked to do an urgent burger job for Gyp with the incentive being that they will allocate me 3 future assignments for a different client in the future when the next wave happens.

Has anybody else been promised this, and if so did it all happen ok, because I'm only doing it for the other jobs as I hate the burger jobs?

Get it in an email. I was once asked by Gyp to go on an 120 mile round-trip - 3 hour journey to do a lousy 15 minute job for one of their convenience stores - all on the promise of adding some petrol money to some jobs the next month.

I thought it was pretty pushy of them and said no.

Has anybody received the work packs for the TNS car jobs please? I have signed up to the site it said to sign up to, but I cant see the work packs even though it says they have been sent.

I've done this job. I went over the new sign-up site several times trying to find briefing notes etc. Could find nothing except the questionnaire - I did the job based on the questionnaire itself. There's nothing on the main TNS site either [obviously]. No work pack was sent out to me.

I had a line of staff holding the door open for me and saying "Farewell, hope you enjoyed your meal" "Hope everything was ok for you!". as I left my burger job yesterday.

The manager was there as well. They were almost bowing and curtseying. I felt like the Queen. Absolutely rediculous!

They knew it was me as soon as I reached the counter.
"So, you'll need a receipt then, wont you?"

As soon as you go in on an non MS day everything is back to normal, the place is filthy and the staff don't give a hoot about you. The food takes ages and the toilets are a disgrace.

What is the point of these assignments I wonder?

I had this as well at one burger joint in particular. Virtually from the moment I walked in I got the vibe that they knew who I was and why I was there. I got offered a receipt [oddly] early on in the payment process and then the manager -hovering in the background- took the receipt and wrote 'GAP' on it all the while avoiding eye contact. I was then handed the receipt of course.

There were a bunch of people hovering behind the counter while I ate: the so-called floor show starting with a cleaner coming over to ask if everything was okay and ending with a member of staff at the door, bidding me farewell.

I walked before I was pushed on these burger jobs after being pushed from the chicken jobs earlier. I got the familiar vague email and when I questioned it, I got another email that wasn't much better. It's a kind of funny that they demand so much specificity from their shoppers at the same time as fobbing you off with these types of emails.

I could go on with having my timings questioned before the report was even submitted to the client but that's enough of the pity party ;)

I still do some jobs for Gyp but it wouldn't be much of a loss if I did no further jobs for them. I've done well with GR and TNS.

I have never had a reply to emails I write to them. I think after this month that's it, I'm not going to do Gyp anymore. I found my first spot in 25 years in the mirror this morning, my jeans are too tight and feel sick!
