Just picked up 3 jobs on ESA for 3 different travel agents to go around and just take pictures of the outside windows! Sounds pretty easy :) Hope no-one thinks i'm a terrorist or someone planning a robbery!

Have you definitely got them, or just applied? I've applied for so many jobs on ESA and never got one of them!

I explained this and what to do about it.
No need to get off your high horse again blindman - it was nothing more than a tongue in cheek reply

I did some of these a while back, for a different company; the pictures were used for publish, in a travel magazine.

Can I please just point out that I took a pub job that was the NORMAL fee and NOT the reduced one. I wouldn't have done it at the reduced fee, but was quite happy doing at the NORMAL fee that we've all been used to before.

I find it quite offensive that you deem me to be screwing things up for the rest of you when I usually steer clear of the pub jobs anyway. It just happens that this particular pub (which is not a CUTLERY pub by the way) is within walking distance of my home and I'l probably go there for a drink anyway, so why not get a free drink and a bit of pocket money at the same time? The visit does not even include a trip to the toilet or anything, it's just literally a quick survey about how the DRINK WAS SERVED and what glass it's in.

I'm off to University in October and am trying to earn as much extra money as I can. I'm sorry if this offends you. I'm a very intelligent young person who has always gained the respect of everyone I've worked with, working my way quickly up any organisation I've ever worked for and for my actions to be belitted by someone who doesn't even know me is quite frankly disgusting and outrageous. And I think I deserve better.

Sorry if I sound like I'm over-reacting (which I probably am) but who are you to judge my actions?! I do very little work for RE as most of the time I don't think the fee is worth it and am becoming far more discerning when I pick my MS jobs. It so happens that this pub I am mystery shopping was a rival pub when I was in pub management and from that view, it's a job that greatly interests me. I spent the best part of two years competing with this pub, and I'd like to see now if it does well it in it's mystery shopping test.

Maybe I'll steer clear from here a bit more often. It's a shame as I'm quite happy to help out any new shoppers who needs any help, wanting to return the favour some kind people on here once showed me.
Holly, your views dont offend anyone other than the simple minded few. Do whatever you want, its your business and yours alone, dont feel you have to justify yourself to anyone. I know how hard it is for students trying to make an honest penny believe me, I have one of my own and she works all the hours god sends just to keep afloat for the month. Good luck to you Holly at Uni, Im sure you will do brilliantly and dont you dare avoid the board, you know who your friends are here as we all do, now smile sweetly and carry on with your day knowing that you have the support and friendship of all the decent people here.

  • Hi all,
Got my reimbursement back for the Tern opticians I did last week, so thanks for the reassurance. Would like to do some more as there are quite a few left but because it will involve two trips I just dont think it would be worth it unfortunately!

I'm doing some edigital surverys and I need to make some enquiries via phone. Just wondering if anyone's got any ideas what I can ask without sounding completely stupid? All the obvious questions are answered on the website. Surely if I could manage to find a phone number, then I could manage to read an FAQ? Any ideas?
    Thanks
You just have to act really dumb and ask them something about delivery timescales or opening hours or postage costs or whether or not they stock a certain product, store location, what carrier they use for postage i.e Royal Mail or courier in case you are out when it comes, or whether they ship to France or not. Hopefully one of these will apply to your website.

I signed up with ESA on Monday and the day after I had a call from them asking me to do 3 travel agent visits for them, one was about 20 miles away so I said it was a bit far away so they offered me £10 extra for fuel if I did all 3. So I said yes and I did the first 2 on Thursday afternoon and they went really well.
I went to do the further away one on Friday and when I walked in, the same assistant who I spoke to in one of the travel agents on Thursday was in there, so I ran out back to the car lol. I rang ESA and they were really understanding and said that even though I couldn't do the mystery shop in that store I am still getting paid for it as it wasn't my fault. So thats £40 I got for 2 visits and going for a drive in the countryside to the other one I couldn't do and back.

Just thought I would let you all know that even when some companies might be giving you trouble, others are grateful for what you do for them and will thank you for it.

I have been doing some jobs which involve assessing the local branches of my bank. Maybe it's just a coincidence but I am pleased to say that I have noticed improvements since I have been doing the jobs. I can't help wondering what other mystery shoppers have been saying or should I say not saying before I started doing them. I know you can get the sack from the likes of Gyp if you are not extremely lenient but this was with one of the better mystery shopping companies giving a fair fee.

Good for you Kitty. Unfortunately I have found that ESA ignore all applications even when they are within walking distance.
