"The steak was overcooked" is what it said (not the meal was awful, I misread that) but the answer is still subjective. 'Overcooked' is opinion, not fact.
So I am right.
No you are not right. You did not pull Beccles up on "The steak was overcooked", you pulled her up on "The meal was awful". Maybe you need to go back and read your own posts again, not just Beccles.
I agree with KaramelRose, a steak can be overcooked or restaurants would not offer different ways of it being cooked.
Perhaps RE found you too obnoxious and confrontational, as I think do a lot of people on this thread. :rolleyes:0 -
KaramelRose wrote: »Having worked as an Assistant Manager in a Restaurant, your steak can be overcooked. There are very specific rules about how a steak should be cooked to order (i.e. rare, medium-rare, medium etc) and if you hand out a medium steak when the customer ordered medium rare then that steak is FACTUALLY overcooked.
A medium steak is a medium steak - it's not a matter of opinion. If you handed me and a group of chefs a steak and asked us to say how well it was cooked - they'd all say the same thing.
I usually don't get involved in any disputes on this thread, but you are being so obnoxious and rude that I'm not surprised that any company wouldn't want you working for them. I certainly wouldn't hire you under any circumstances. I suggest you get off your high horse and start to carefully read briefs and instructions and take any advice that the kind, hard working mystery shoppers on here give you. The guys on here are true professionals and the reason they have built up such good reputations is because they act professionally at all times.
You, do not.
Thank you.
First of all, I'm not being obnoxious or rude. You are. How dare you come on here when the reason for my original complaint was about RE software not working properly and excuses that seemed to suggest that my reports were adequate. It had nothing to do with my reporting procedures. Read my later posts - other people have the same problem with report boxes not turning green from red.
Secondly, on this forum I was reporting factual answers, based on the query raised in the post about the difference between subjective and objective answers. I know that steak can be overcooked but the word' overcooked' is still a subjective answer coming from a customer. Apparently, we're not supposed to be 'customers' we're supposed to be MS reporters. I'm saying that this approach has less value to the client. A factual answer (H&S inspector style) would be a description of how the steak looked - 'overcooked' is not a description, it's an opinion. Brown, with black round the edges' is a description.
So why don't you read my brief properly instead of coming on here and pre-judging those you've never even met.
The point all along was this: subjective 'customer' comments are of more value to the client than factual ones.0 -

I know I did, that's why I corrected it, which you've completely overlooked. Not that this matters. The point I made was that the answer was opinion not fact - again why don't you do your own reading properly?
I'm not beginning to realise why RE did bin me off. I'm too discerning and second rate assessors, like you, that tell the client what they want to hear, is what RE want from their MS. No doubt you do that wonderfully. That's certainly the impression they gave to me. I doubt very much whether MS care whether you submit fact or opinion - as long as it is likely to be the answer the client would 'want to hear.' Yesterday, I was told that my answers weren't 'positive' enough. If that doesn't prove my point, I'd like to know what does. It's seems odd to me that the first report I submitted, during my probabationery period, had no negative feedback at all from RE (the reason being that I was uncritical of the service). The two follow up reports I submitted (with more experience of writing and submitting them) were queried. If you made any sense at all, you would realise that the first report is likely to be criticised and any other follow up reports less likely to be criticised. In my case, the oppositie happened. I'm convinced that RE only submit reports to clients that don't appear to suggest anything is wrong with customer service (if that is what the client is expecting anyway).
I don't deserve to be called obnoxious, just because RE software doesn't work properly. That's unfair, as you well know.0 -
People giving advice dont deserve to be called ridiculous. Thats not forum etiquette. RE can be picky but they sure can spot someone they dont need working for them. I cant remeber any shoppers I know being sacked from RE or infact not being paid.:money: giving me & my darling boys a better cheaper life

Hiya!
I copied the IBAN and Swift numbers off a statement of mine all corresponding to my current account. Now I have seen that half the details bare have are for my savings account and half for my current account - account no for current and IBAN and SWIFT for savings!
OK, I'll put my bank manager hat on now. Are both accounts with the same bank? And I assume you have checked both accounts for the money?
I would suggest two things. Firstly contact BARE and ask if the payments have been returned (if they couldn't be applied, they should have been sent back).
Secondly, contact your bank, try and find someone who understands SWIFT transfers (you may be better asking in a branch rather than ringing telephone banking). And ask if they can find any record of the payments coming in, and to where they have gone. They will need to check with Head Office so it may take a day or so, but money can't just vanish (except from my wallet!) so it's either with your bank or been returned to BARE.
If you still have no joy PM me with which banks are involved and I will see if I can help further.Happy New Year :beer:0 -
Hiya!
I need some help please regarding BARE.
I have done 2 jobs for them now... both stating 'paid'. I never checked the first one and just went looking for this one - neither have been paid to me - all be it my fault!

I am guessing this money is lost now?
I know it's my fault for not double checking - but why has my bank put different account details all on the same sheet of paper?!
Edit:
Ok..found some bank statements... It appears that my BIC, sortcode and Account number match, but I have given them a different IBAN number (which is for my other account)... is there anything I can do?
Hi,
send an email to mderyckere@bareinternational.com , give her the information, and your BARE ID. She was exceptionally helpful to me, and in my case, the payment got bounced back by my bank, so she was able to re-issue the payment for me.0 -
No it's not. You examples are ridiculous
<snip>
So don't be so ridiculous.
Subjective: I find it a little upsetting that you manage to call me names twice in the same post for offering some genuine help and guidance as your first post suggested you were a struggling newbie. I've since read your other posts explaining your background and I now realise you already know everything.Proofreading is for checking grammar and spelling, not for assessing what the client should deduce from the answers.
Proof reading a mystery shopping report is checking for spelling and grammar. The job also involves checking that the shopper followed the scenario correctly and the report contains objective comments and anything irrelevant is removed. The proof reader may contact a shopper if there are inaccuracies or anything unclear in the report.I doubt very much whether MS care whether you submit fact or opinion - as long as it is likely to be the answer the client would 'want to hear.'
I've been working in the job for a number of years, and all of the companies I have worked for have insisted on fact unless your opinion is specifically asked for.
I've worked for Retail Eyes since 2002, and must have submitted hundereds of reports ranging from glowing reports, through to very negative reports where everything went wrong. I've never once not been paid for a job and still remain on their books. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Thank you AndyinYorks and ScottiesMum...
I've been on the phone to the bank already this morning and they weren't very helpful. But shall try contacting Bare (looked everywhere for an email address so thanks for that!).
Yes both accounts are with the same bank, so that's some good news!
I will get back to this thread with my answers in the next couple of days hopefully.
Thanks for helping0
