I've just had an email from Gapbuster telling me that they regularly review their database and as a result they often remove shoppers from their database and in this instance I am no longer required to complete assignments!

Not bothered as haven't done any of their assignments for a couple of months and there are better companies to work for.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Normally about 4 weeks if not more.

    E.g Presently

Visit times do tend to be late though (e.g. 23:00-01:00)

4 weeks notice would be plenty - and late is good in my book as I would do something else before hand.

Hi all, I have a quick query about waiting 14 days to input the remainder of my questionnaire for GfK. Assignment completed today so the 14th working day will be ...Monday 14th September? I am right in thinking only week days are working days, yes? Also does that mean I should input on the 14th day or wait until the 15th?

Wraggy, if you are earning money that doesn't have tax deducted yet, you will need to complete a tax return, even if you will not end up paying tax. You can make an appointment at your local Inland Revenue office and they will get you set up on the system and show you what you need to record ready to complete your return. There is also a helpline number you can ring when you are completing your return if you need advice. They are pretty easy if you have recorded you income and expenses correctly throughout the year.

I did this yesterday and I put the 15th down, effectively giving them 14 full working days, but I called late in the afternoon. It's a toughy but I was generous particularly as there are postal strikes around too.

So my theory on being picky with assignments is starting to pay off. I've picked up two in the last few days that require a little more time, quite detailed information to gather but the same amount of final questions. I've probably earned more doing these two assignments that doing 10 assignments for RE.

However, at 6pm at night I still get the urge to log on and just see what comes up on RE!
    Can anyone help an addict?!

Just tell them to remove your details from their database, and you'll no longer be able to log in.. Problem solved...;)

So I am expecting to pay no tax on my MS income since I won't earn over the taxable limit each year, and I also don't want to make any NI contributions because in general they will be more than my MS income.

Even if you only earn £1 a year, you still have to fill in a tax return and declare it, though no tax will be due. It's really not as daunting as it seems if you do it online. You pick the applicable sections of the form (self employed, employed, rental income etc) and it guides you through filling them in and works out the tax for you or tells you that you've got nothing to pay.

You can't not pay NI because you don't want to! The current rate is £2.40 a week. However if you will be earning less that £5075 this tax year, you can apply for small earnings exemption and won't have to pay this. Not paying excludes you from claiming benefits if you were sick or had an accident, maternity etc., so some people pay if the think there is a chance they might need to claim in the future.

If you read the first post, it explains how to contact the tax office and set yourself up as self employed.

It's happened to a few people. Others have said they had no idea why they were removed either.
Here I go again on my own....
