RANT ALERT
Ok so I am not sure if this is me being slightly OCD or just plain unreasonable BUT I had friends round this morning and had a picnic indoors. I like people to come to a clean house so had hoovered LR and generally given it a once over so it looked ok. My pals DD and DS always manage to wreck the place and get it totally covered in food while she just sits there and goes 'woops' and 'oh dear' but makes no attempt to stop it or clean up. Today her DS covered my sofa in cheese, chocolate and juice and she just sat there. Last week when the visited she let him chew my sons books and I cant even begin to tell you how many things have been broken! I would never let my DS so that to his stuff never mind anyone elses. Now dont get me wrong accidents happend but this is unreal. Also my DS is a boy (go figure) and is a little bit wild. No angel but deffinately not a bully but he will take toys off pals DD. Her DD just cries at everything and I really mean everything and I am constantly telling off my DS for not doing much wrong. However when her DD does something to my DS she doesnt bat an eyelid and he is left upset while she gets no row or consequences!!!!!
I have had this, and i stopped it. I was always telling my little ones off basically nothing whilst the other children were like wild animals at the zoo, throwing food, toys and just being very unruly and then i was left to clear it all up whilst they were on there way back to the nice clean and tidy house. Although before i stopped the playdates i suggested doing at there house and they said "NO its not my thing", which i expected. Turn it on her and do it to back she will soon realise.dollydaydream07 wrote: »can someone please KICK me??
please don't ever let me let my oven get like this again - i used mr muscle on it this morning(only had a tiny bit left) and this afternoon i used astonish on it, have been scrubbing like a mad woman for almost an hour, while trying to make a curry and it stil doesn't look any cleaner!! i must have srubbed half an inch of grease off it:o gonna give it another go tonight with the astonish and see what happens, need to clean all the shelfs as well as they are covered in grease, might put them in the bath with some soda crystals and some wash powder over night and then give them a scrub in the morning!
i wish i had listened to you and bought some oven pride but thought i would use up stuff i already had in first
Leave the shelves in the bath with some biological soap powder and tomorrow they should clean of very easily. If you get the odd tough bit a metal scourer should do the trick with very little effort. Also for next time if you have this and no cleaner. Boil water and place it in the oven and walk away and do all other jobs, although it is time consuming it will help loosen the burnt on crap!

froddington isnt that what the last week of term is for?? hee hee
In theory! But I had to spend the first 2 days of the hols sorting my classroom and throwing out / organising / giving away loads of stuff and this is what I have left to go through - it appears to be mostly old work .........
I am also sorting the folders for my new class as I go and amassing vast amounts of shredding and recycling!"There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers

I'm late starting this week as I've caught swine flu and so have been very sluggish today. DH has taken the week off work as he works with adults with severe learning difficulties and lots have underlying health problems so it's advisable that he keeps away. The problem with this is that DH is self-employed so isn't paid if he doesn't work, but we really think it's best that he keeps away from work.
We also had to take DS2 to the dentist as he had an infection under one of his teeth and had to have his tooth drilled to let it drain (ewwww - glad DH handled that one while I hid away in the car).
I feel bad for both the boys as we stayed in for most of last week cos DS1 was ill and now it looks like this week will be boring too.
To top it all off there is a horrible ladybird swarm here (has been for the last 10 days) and it's just getting worse. It's really not nice being outside at the moment as they cover you. It's horrible even putting the washing out.
Okay - moan over (for now)
Hope everyone else is fine (haven't read through the thread yet) and hugs for anone who needs them.

Huge hugs Blimus - it would seem it is catching several flyladies at the mo. Well done to you and DH for deciding for him to stay at home; I wish everyone was as considerate as you when working with such vulnerable people.

Blimus - hope you get better soon. I was at the East Coast on saturday and the Ladybird infestation was incredible, there were swarms of 1000's - not kidding - and it was horrendous. They were swarming over everyone and everything it was blerdy horrible. They covered the car and we had some that stayed on the car all the way home to MK.
