Seconded. Right... having done some really exciting research on cloud computing, I think I'm probably going to go for a walk before doing anymore! I need some fresh air to help my brain cells recover...

HMMMM....was hoping the vote would be collapse on the sofa. OK, I'll go and get my gym bag.

Thanks for the update on Toots Soappie. Hopefully she'll feel well enough tomorrow to say hello to us all.

    See you later.

yep.. are they really itchy perchance?

There are a few reasons.. one is a form of eczema and the other is hand, foot and mouth.. both are incredibly itchy and bleed when chewed off or itched off. the hand foot and mouth usually starts onthe hands but is often accompanied by a high temp, snottiness etc whereas the eczema one is just plain itchy and peels when it has gone down.

Other than that is it possible he has caught himself on nettles or something? too much pencil sharpening? scissor usage?

He used to get eczema really badly and this isnt anything like that (although it could be cos its on his hands). Not been gardening today and hes only 2.5 so no pencil sharpening or scissor using. I have to say I did wonder about the hand foot and mouth but his feet seem to be ok - ah who knows

Come to think of it.. DS1's hands used to peel for no reason at all or so it appeared... they would start on the tip of the thumb.. then the finger tip until the whole palm had peeled.. rather the same as the feet do. It was a fungal infection he got periodically and nooone else ever had it just him and it was much better when he developed the idea that hand washing was actually normal.. :s
Might be something like that. Other than being a little stingy he doesnt seem bothered by it so I am not overly worried just a little confused by it. If it doesnt clear up (or he gets more) then I might go see HV.

there are loads of different types of eczema.. hand foot and mouth they are usually quite ill with.. have a high temp (38-39'C) and are sleepy and snotty.. it develops onthe hands first then spreads elsewhere pretty quickly.

If the skin is broken it may be sweat from his hands making them feel a little stingy.

Hope it isn't anything soo prolonged.

Elf hope he is ok - shame for your friend if her kids have picked it up assuming it is a contagious thing.

Soappie - I was reading today how extra Vit C is vital during and after illness so if you have some you might consider popping a few

DS3 is in bed reading Mr Men books, can't be bothered to water the garden now so think I'll start my ironing.

Have done the kitchen today like Serena as I didnt look last night to see if it had changed from normal:rolleyes: Oh well. Will catch up on living room tomorrow. Can I brag? I HAVE NO IRONING AGAIN :j:j:j:j:j
I have also done 2 hours on the allotment, 2 loads of washing, washed up twice and cooked tea (oh usually does that job) so am having well earned sit down.
elf I think your friend was out of order not to help you clean up/chatise her kids. It annoys me when so called friends behave like that. I would arrange to meet at a playcentre next time or suggest you fancy a change of scene and how about her place? Then let him run wild covered in chocolate and Jam!!!:rotfl:
