  • Me, good places to go around bath – Mum was telling me last night where she is going to go when she goes to Bath – The Pump Room, Sally Lunn’s and The Jane Austin Center

I have just spent a lovely hour reading all the posts at the end of the last thread and all 7 pages of this one - really made me smile.

Rose thankyou for those ideas - we will keep them in mind.

Greenbee - thankyou for the offer of the book of walks but I would wheeze too much if I went on a walk- mmmmmm think of the men in uniform that might need to come to my rescue!!!:o:D:D

Well we are supposed to be leaving in a ohhh about an hour and I have not found my case let alone packed - how bad am I and I keep wondering why!!! so here is my list for today...

    Find my case
    find some clothes
    find some bedding
    find some towels
    pack said items
get DD to do the same
find some cross stitch - havn't done any in years
    pack books
    pack DVD player and DVD's
find Mum's Attendance Allowance form & pack it
Take work file back into work - not had time to sort but only away 5 days (this may come back to haunt me) - or do I take it with me and do it while I am away.........

Delegate last nights washing up to DS - he will hav nothing to do for the week apart from digging more flower beds and starting to take out the confiers......:D

Make sure I have mobile phone + charger
    also Sat nav
    plus keys to cottage

Must also text DF who has an interview in Isle of Skye today - so hope she is successful as I want to visit her there - I have never been north of the border and it look stunning.

Me - can DS not do some ebaying for you (or at least the photography) while you're away?

Insurance company called - don't appear to be in the slightest bit bothered about the inaccuracies but I have pointed out that I'm not signing a false declaration, so they've told me to write it on the form and they'll update it when I send it back.

Gym bag packed, so just need to pack work bag and put breakfast stuff in DW, then get dressed and go.

It's a lovely day outside - presumably because i'm going to have to spend it in the office

I'm starting to worry now. I am going to London for two nights on Friday morning, and I haven't booked an hotel yet! Trying desperately for the Hilton Paddington on top secret hotels but so far the dates are not coming through for me. Believe me, I've been checking for weeks! Anyway whatever happens I know I will find something nice even if not that hotel.

What is panicking me most is that my Dad will be coming in to feed the cats and rabbit while I am away, and I hate for the house to look so messy! The kitchen and bathroom aren't too bad but the nooks and crannies everywhere else are. I think I need to crisis clean! I'll start with the Living room and work outwards from there.

Anyone have any advice, I always find I concentrate on things that really don't matter (like wiping the wall) and then find that the really noticeable things (like dirty carpets/tiled floor) aren't done and I have run out of time!

Added to all this, my bedroom is still an absolute tip, I'm sure he won't come in here but if he needs to use the phone he'll have to! Ideally I would have my bedroom really tidy and organized before I go cos I hate packing a suitcase when the room is a mess.

    Extras
    1. Update spreadsheets/meal plans etc.. :D
    2. 15 minutes filing/shredding
    3. Binbag dance!

Concentrate on tidying one room at a time - go through it and put stuff away. Take a binbag with you for everything you're going to through out and a box for the stuff that needs re-homing elsewhere in the house (and possibly another box for charity shop donations). You've got 4 days, so you can get 4 rooms sorted pretty thoroughly without spending all your time on it!

Once things are tidy, you can then have a quick hoover and wipe over the surfaces so that it's reasonably clean... and when you get back you can start the lists properly and you'll soon have every room deep cleaned ;)

    Morning all

Not feeling great today, sore throat, fuzzy head and earache so I think I will be mainly sorting and pottering, DS2 has ortho later and woody is still not back to normal so could be back at the vet after that.

Just looked out in the garden and found out that the washing line had collapsed with 3 curtains on it and knocked over the table [glass] and umbrella, luckily enough the table was fine and the curtains had landed on it and a bush so were fine so its all rehung on another line and hopefully gonna stay there!"!
