Hello. I have started to get unwanted ads popping up on my screen. I do have a pop up blocker. They mostly seem to appear when I am on Facebook. How can I prevent this? My hubby wonders if I have a virus.

Thanks but do you mean to install them all?Jasmine0 -
Try the Kasperspy online scanner...... You don't need to install anything permanent and you can find out if you've got a virus within an hour or so, for free.

If it shows any infections, post the results back here and im sure one of us can point you in the right direction

Bad idea to install ALL of them. sometimes they can cause more problems.
Install malwarebytes, update and run a scan, delete anything it finds and upload the log here. notepad will open and copy and paste here.
download, Hijackthis and scan + log file, notepad will open when it done, just copy everything and post here
wait for a reply.0 -
By all means scan for a nasty but if you only see these ads from a few sites it is more likely that they are serving the ads in a way that circumvents the popup blocker.
If you'd really been hit by a virus or other malware I think you'd be complaining about the type of ad that is being served as normally they'd be very explicit porno.0 -

Not heard or come across problems myself..... But from a fault finding perspective it's never a good idea to do too many things at once. You might fix it, but you'll probably never know what was wrong for future reference and if you do happen to buggar it up, you won't have a clue what actually did it.
In the electronics industry, I'd liken it to replacing every component on a PCB instead of actually getting in there with a good old Hameg dual trace and a Fluke to really get to the bottom of the problem.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
