If you have an existing payment to "Fred", why not set up a 2nd payment under "New" payments to "Fred". I have in the past set up 4 or 5 new
payments to Egg for the same day, as I wanted each payment to show up individually on the sending and receiving statements. (The amounts involved though were relatively small but the principle of sending to the same account details on the same day were possible).
Thanks - I appreciate the thought - but the idea of having to circumvent a crap system by setting up all my payees multiple times (and now I have to deal with a security phone call for each one I believe) to achieve what the other banks provide as their standard offering just p***es me off and life's too short!. Can't they just take on board the coments and fix it!

Thought I'd cracked the "no sameday payments" issue - setup a £500 on Sunday am; -Sunday pm the transaction has gone Yeh!! £500 so should go FP ..................... wrong, so far its not in the receiving account so must have gone BACs. -Derrgh :(
Must be just another LTSB quirk - no FP on Sundays :)

Sunday a.m. payments are still regarded as "the weekend" but with Lloyds Sunday becomes Monday anytime between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon. So, it is not a FP - they don't seem to happen.

Understand the Sunday /Monday which is why putting in a transaction on Sunday morning means it will be processed Sunday afternoon ( Tomorrow in LTSB terms). They are also supposed to be processing transactions uptp £500 as FP.

So as expected the £500 went Sunday PM - but hadn't arrived in the receiving account(natwest) by late last night - so I assume it went BACS -or maybe there is some sort of " delayed FP " at weekends - I'll check if it arrived today.

I've never experienced any FP from Lloyds when making a "Transfer and Payment" online. The only hope you have is ringing them, then cross your fingers and toes! Lloyds seem to be dragging their heels. From Natwest to Lloyds is instant.

Have checked - and the money is there this morning - so I guess it was the LTSB version of FP -next day instead of 3 days
