    Hi,

I use toy boxes for mine. 1 for stuff to list, 1 for stuff that's listed, 1 for sold & 1 for sold & paid. When it's paid i pack it & post.

Thanks all, I've just remembered I've already got a chest of drawers in the hallway with 3 or 4 empty drawers, so I can use that, with one for listed/sold/paid etc.

I'm such a muppet, I was going to buy more drawers, at least now I can see how come I've ended up with so much rubbish to get rid of!
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

I tend to wrap my things as I list them so that I know how much it will weigh for the postage price & also I find its easier to store.

Trouble is if a potential buyer wants further info/measurements etc about the item and as also mentioned if a buyer purchases several of your items.

I use plastic draws like above from Agros but I found 4 small and 2 large set up ones. I give each of the small draws a number and then the items ending in a certain week get that number. Then the next draw is for stuff that was listed and didn't sell so needs relisting and then the last draw for stuff which has sold. The day after the items end I move everything into either sold or unsold draw and then I have an empty draw for the next listings. Also by having a draw for sold items you can notice if you forget to post something and don't list a sold item.

I have a box of 'photographed but not yet listed', a box of 'just bought, not even photgraphed yet' and then things that are listed are in the drawers. as they get bids I try to out them into mailing bags unsealed, then wehn they sell i seal the bags etc. It's not a perfect system yet but I'm getting there.
My biggest failing is buying more before i've listed what ive already got.
Still at least now my hobby of car boots is paying its way. I hardly ever buy anythign for me any more, just to resell, but it satisfies my shopping itch.

If you are buying at carboots to resell on ebay you should be registered as a business on ebay .....

How does it work if you buy books at a car boot, and resell them after you've read them? I bought a load at a car boot on sunday, they're all ones I want to read, but I'm sure that some of them I wont want to keep.

At no point did i say I wasn't. I have more than one ebay account, a private one and a business one. On my private one I am still slowly getting rid of a lifetimes accumalated clothing for myself and my two daughters and son, as well as my old craft items and books.
No, Mr A, that is NOT 'Great news'!!:D

    Wombling totals: Oct = £243.32 - £93.32 over target!
Nov Wombling Tally: £27.36 so far... behind target :(

You only have to be registered as a business on Ebay if your buying stuff purely to sell for a profit. As your buying them to read and then selling them afterwards your not intending to make a profit. Although I guess it would be a nice bonus if you do!

I usually just sell my own clothing and accessories, so at least have the advantage of these items being soft and easier to store. I usually photo them, and then list straight away, so they are then folded, and stored in a plastic underbed storage box which goes under my sofa in the living room. When/if bought, they get packed up and addressed ready to send as soon as paymetn is received, those waiting for payment go on one shelf, those paid for go into the hallway for the next time I go out. I have large storage boxes from Ikea. leather look pink ones to go with my living room tables, which fit underneath nicely, and store my packing materials. This means everything is away from the wardrobe room etc, so that I can keep them separate, but not in the way or on show. Works for me anyway.
