wmf - so would you say my DD has had swine flu? Do they get over it that quickly? She's seems much more sprightly today and is catching up on some much needed sleep at the mo. thing is if it is swine flu it would have implications on my childminding as I'd need to probably notify local authority as well as my parent. How are you supposed to know if it is or not?
Redruby - well done you. I hope the rest of your completion goes smoothly and without any hitches!!!!I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Hi everyone.
Ruby, I'm delighted for you about the house sale!
Bitsy, I'm glad your little ones are on the mend.
WMF, I hope you feel better soon.
Melz, welcome!
Cranky sorry you both haven't been well, I hope you're over it now.
Churchie, and Sunyday, it's good to see you both posting again!
Halight, My Tilly is 3 years old too but she's blonde - not ginger, as Haribo would have you believe!
Happy Birthday to Essex boy and miss mummysaver!:bdaycake: :bdaycake:
Thanks so much for the well wishes for Tilly....she's as right as rain today and seems totally recovered. I'm still cross about the vets mistake but as long as she's well that's all that matters.
Thank you all for your lovely birthday wishes too. I'm getting to the age where I'd rather forget (and often do) what age I am, but I've had a lovely morning. I've been spoiled rotten...Dad and stepmum have bought me a green house, Mr Pink got me some beautiful jewellery and smellies I wanted, and the children got me really thoughtful presents that I love including a lamp I'd had my eye on and a Matryoshka doll to add to my collection.
The only OS thing I plan to do today is to look at replacing our washing machine which died last night after 24 years service so it owed me nothing. Just a pity it's the week before our holiday when I use it even more often than normal but if I can't get it replaced in the next day or two I know stepmum will be happy to help me out. Then later Mr Pink and I are off to a hotel for dinner and a night on our own.
It's a great Sunday deal with Malmaison so not as extravagant as it sounds.
Thanks again to you all and I hope everyone else is having a lovely Sunday.
Take care,
Pink0 -

Sorry I wouldn't be able to say. We don't even know if we've had it . DH was diagnosed by phone ( NHS helpline)as 'probably/ possibly' having it and given tamiflu code. We have felt much the same although he has been more ill than me. It's difficult to know which things are just tummy bugs etc. Maybe you could ring your health centre just for advice on the child minding side? I think people are being diagnosed as 'possibles' to help keep infection down. I'm really glad that your little one is feeling better. I thought I was 'better' and tackled some bed changing then went out into the fresh air and felt exhausted and weak. Anyway, lemonade and biscuits (healthy diet there hehehe) and felt better.
Salopman - good to see you posting. I also love hearing about everyone growing their own veg!

Hi everyone. Didn't get time on here yesterday and was away overnight, so I haven't caught up with this thread lately. I just wanted to tell you what happened to my DH's cousin recently, as a warning that these things happen. She was standing in front of her washing machine - which was in the middle of a 70 degree wash; the door burst open and the water flooded out all over her feet, leaving her with nasty burns that will need lots of treatment. Luckily, she wasn't holding her new baby daughter at the time. I just wanted to warn you all that, although rare, these things do happen.
Hope you are all having a good weekend.

Afternoon everybody.Happy Birthday Pink-winged,have a great day.Glad Tilly is fine.
Well its not raining, even had a bit of sun so far,so I've been trimming my tomatoes like it said on Gardeners World, generally tidying the salad tubs and unearthing some potatoes-I only put a few in as a trial but am quite pleased at the size of some of them :j.We shall be trying some out later with roast lamb. There is a bit of rhubarb left in the garden so might do that too.
DH and I went on the market yesterday for some greengrocery, and I spotted a wrap dress in a charity shop nearby so got that, and he bought 4 thrillers so we were well pleased.Treated ourselves to a coffee too, just so we could have some time on our own and give the DSons a bit of space .
With 4 adults in the house all day we can get a bit on top of each other-though we have plenty of room thank goodness, but with DS1 still depressed about his relationship break up and DH &DS 2 at home with no work ,not to mention Dhs dizzy spells and feeling under the weather it can get a bit gloomy.I try my best to keep upbeat(just fail a bit now and then)
as I know there are others far worse off.
Yesterday DS2 had a call about some possible work from s.o. we know,so they are looking at that tomorrow-might be a week or twos worth so better than nothing.
Redruby- great about the house, well done.
Some friends of ours have also sold this week-theyve had theirs on the market even longer than us,similar price range as well,so theres hope yet.We had yet another couple this week who said they were making an offer but we've heard nothing from the agent
.Why- are they too embarrased to say they don't like it or think its too dear ?They were here ages so its just a waste of our time, and my time cleaning and titivating
Ooooer, sorry for the rant, just slipped out
Better go and calm down and check the lamb, smells delicious.x
Sunnygirl-not seen you post for a few days, hope you're OK.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Happy Birthday Pink:bdaycake:enjoy your celebrations.
Threatening to rain here all day but thankfully none yet as have some clothes on line...seem to have lost OH's favourite jeans...may end up going out the fields to-morrow to look for it....have said nothing to him, but they may have blown off the line.
Roast beef with carrots, cabbage and swede for dinner, cake will do for pudding as I don't feel like making anything else.
Have a good afternoon everyone....bank holiday here to-morrow.

Well NHS Direct didn't mention swine flu, they were more concerned about mennigitis so I guess if they thought it was that they would have mentioned it. Since she's had no other real symptoms and the fact that's shes much more sprightly I'll take it that it was some random virus going about.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife
