Thank you everyone for your help but i am still very confused. If i was to get the nightbus (n18 which seems the best option) where does it stop near where i am staying? I am staying at the travelodge in wembley. The nearest tube station is Hanger Lane. I know that the nightbus stops at Wembley central. Is this anywhere near where i need to be or should i be getting off at a different stop?I/QUOTE]

You are right dooj, the whole point of the forum is to help one another. And that's just what quite a lot of us did when you enquired. However you must realise that while those of us who live in London are happy to help, most
of us don't have all the information in our heads and so it us took time to
find it and respond. It's a bit galling then to find the op returning "confused"
when the journey planner quite clearly says to get off the N18 at Stonebridge
    Park and walk from there.

If you had come back and said wow! great! I didn't realise I could stay up in town until 5am and then get a bus home-where are the "in" places to go at
that time of night I have no doubt that many more would have given you further assistance.

That being said, I hope you have a great time and if you do want to return to
your hotel just after midnight, the tube is the better bet over the buses
    albeit slightly more expensive.

Your user name doesn't tell me if you are male or female, if you are female take a licenced mini-cab, you can prob get the number from the travellodge of the best local firm & pre-book & make sure you have a mobile & their number with you.
My husband is a south London mini-cab driver & he says about £20, make sure you get that quote from the firm you book with & if the driver tries to charge you more insist he radios the office or takes you there or to the local police station to sort it out.

Waiting time is after 5 mins, not 10, so be on time.

    Hope this helps.

It would really be so much easier for you and certainly less stressful to use a local mini-cab service. If the nearest stop is Wembley Central it would be a bit of a walk. I am sorry if you felt my previous post was unfriendly and I do take the point that we Londoners are used to our transport system.

Dooj, the number 18 bus does not go very near the Wembley (which I would call the Hangar Lane) Travelodge. The number 18/N18 basically goes straight up the Harrow Road (called Hillside at the point where it crosses the North Circular).

Tube is best option - Tottenham Court Road to Hangar Lane is a direct, 24 minute ride according to the tfl website http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/user/XSLT_TRIP_REQUEST2 and this says that the last tube you could catch on a Saturday night (which is what I think you want but the OP is on a previous page so I can't see it!) is at 12.44

P.S. I do know where this Travelodge is from driving past it, and I've checked on Google. You do not want to go to Wembley. You do want to go to Hangar Lane. It is very walkable from there.

However should he decide to stay out later, the N18 stops at Stonebridge Park which is no further from the Hotel than Hanger Lane tube.
