hi went bankrupt monday 24th after failing my iva due to redundnacy.
Big worry is my bank account with halifax its an easy cash account so very basic - OR said he will tell halifax he has no objections to keeping account and told me not to worry - but their terms and conds say they will close the account.
I believe that leaves 2 options coop - who have declined me( i had a credit card with them) and barclays - my mbna credit card is now owned by barclays and I afraid they will decline me - can I really be left without a bank account - my new employer pays me every friday - help dont know where to turn any experience of this out there?0 -
In court at 9.20 tomorrow, my stomach is in knots and has been for two days. Well done to all that have already been through this

Good luck for tomorrow Larzie, I felt like you before my BR court day but I can honestly say it was so different to what I expected. Friendly,professional,non-judgemental, everyone there to help you.
Take care and let us know how it goes

1967vike.....co-op DID change their T&C's a while back so yep if you had them as a past creditor they will refuse an account....BUT barclays will give a basic account to bankrupts that have had previous debt with them...they offered me an account & they were one of my biggest creditors
And.....GOOD LUCK Larzie everything will go fine!We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
Best wishes for tomorrow larzie30! Hope it all goes smoothly for you.
Welcome to 1967vike and congrats on your BR. I would definitely recommend changing bank accounts asap from the Halifax to Barclays Basic account, Halifax are definitely not BR friendly.
Some others have managed to open a savings account with the Yorkshire Bank, they are happy to let you have their web account which comes with a cash card so that could be another option for you if Barclays won't let you have an account.
Best wishes
Donna

Got letters thru from OR office this morning. My Dh took call from OR yesterday re interview next Weds, now he just heard the words INTERVIEW and NEXT WEDS and presumed we had to go to office. Been stressing about it all night, only to open letters this morning stating we are having a TELEPHONE interview!!
Still stressed but slightly relieved we dont have to go in
