Hello Shaun
Saw a bit on the news at lunchtime - Irish budget (boo hiss) talking about cuts in child allowances, cuts in benefits, cuts in public sector pay----but who cares, they are also cutting the price of booze so you can go and drink yourself stupid! Now I wonder if the government bods are also going to take a pay cut? Our English pre-budget report doesn't sound much better, then to add insult to injury they featured the President of Barclays talking about why we should not be nasty to the poor City moneymakers. And they told us (just out of interest, you know) that he earned over 20 million quid the year before the credit crunch.....he must be really on hard times now, expect to see him posting on here any day now......One life - your life - live it!0 -
yep all true nargle
the gov have taken voluntary pay cuts ,,,and cut in expenses ,,today they have their pay cut,,,probably deferred till next dec,,,where as our cuts come in tonight,,
the booze reduction is to try to stop everyone going up north ,,,a bit too late cus they have all been,,
the NI retail organisation announced that last weekend they had taken the same amount of cash by the 6th dec ,,,already compared to the whole of last xmas
no doubt swelled by the civil servants who went up their when they were on strikeWAS DEBT FREE & STILL BAAARRRRRKING

If it's any consolation Shaun, one of your politicians was saying on the radio yesterday that our recessions are quite similar, and if there wasn't an election here next year we should have had a similar budget. This way our recession is going to last that bit longer........0
