    Hello Shaun and co, happy Tuesday everyone. Now starting to get Christmasitis, got the tree up and the wreath on the door, the rest of the decorations will go up in dribs and drabs this week. Got some more prezzies wrapped and cards written out, and added more stuff to the goodies pile( biscuits, nuts, sweets etc).

    however i thought the tree eth was only supposed to go up from the 12 dec to 6 of jan
    12 days before and after,,,,
    i understand people doing the outside of houses when they can as next wk could be gale's and heavy rain,,,,but inside??
    have hallmark made a new date,,,ie 1st dec:confused::confused:

    I saw a house in the next village had their Christmas decs up around 18th November - what's the point? They look so sad and tired by the time Christmas actually comes around. Also children get wound up enough at this time of year without winding them up even further by putting decorations up in November. At least if you wait till early/mid December they will know Christmas is getting near instead of being over a month away.Normally ours go up 2 weeks before, but I am doing it in instalments as it is very tiring done in one go!

    I put my wreath on the door today, but that's cos it'll die indoors.

    And I love driving home past hugely illuminated houses, makes me feel cheerful. I'm far too snobby to do it (it's so vulgar, dahling) but I love the outside lights and "santa please stop here" signs :rotfl:

    I'm wondering whether to forego my real tree and save £35 by using an artificial one we have. But I love the smell of pine......

    Collect a few pine cones and put them in a basket near the fire place-free and wonderful smell..you can go all festive and put a twig of holly on the top too.
