I really can't see it happening at all though, the till only scans the barcode. The ID number & details (on Couponnet, Pigsback and Smart coupons etc) is not part of the barcode and couldn't be included either, as 99 barcodes have a set format to show the product and the amount off. I would be very happy for technology to prove me wrong though, and I am sure all our regular posters would be happy with such a system too (any coupon-scammers lurking here can just take a running jump).

But I don't think it's the Couponnet ones that are the problem anyway, really, the recent abuse was with PDF coupons. I wish all retailers stopped being so stupid as to put coupons on the internet in PDF form - are you listening retailers? No, I thought not...:o

I agree! I also have a spare room full of both Cifs and Domestos bleach so although I don't always buy the product when using the coupons I have bought more than I would normally if I wasn't using coupons. Also if Tesco isn't getting reimbursed for any pdf. coupons then they would put a block on them as they have in the past. My daughter was really bummed when the KOS was blocked as she was buying it everytime she used the coupon.

this was spoken about in my local store about 9 month ago when they were getting coupon abuse.
they banned internet coupons about a month after , still banned today .:mad:
the tills to read the unique id are very expensive apparently but for legitimate couponers they cant arrive quickly enough.:T
