I'm loving the idea of erine's of the whole country going Bonkers for biscuits. McVities penquins in every school kids lunch box, Hob Nobs and Chocolate digestives in every meeting from the one at the Church down the road to the one's at Number 10 Downing Street. Charities asking for donated used wrappers in order to raise funds, schools, churches and the salvation army doing the same.
I loved the sharing aspect of this competition. I loved the opportunity to feel like I was making a difference. I really wanted melandtony to get their new bathroom, I really wanted the kids of the members here to be waking up to a Wii off Santa on Christmas morning - It was a real good feel good factor thinking that I could have been partly responsible for making some of those dreams come true. I, like many others here was never in this just for myself.
If we had not swapped codes, The daily Giveaway would have always been open to particular people winning more often than others, people who had the money in the first place to be able to go and buy 100's of packets. Would that have been fairer? See, even if McVities don't like the idea of us sharing codes would they have been any more delighted at the same people winning every single day of the competition? Because that could have easily have been what happened. At least this way the McVities money has gone to make a difference to many many people. I hope they enjoy their winnings, I hope it does make a difference and I do wish that people would not come on here and attempt to make the members here feel bad about something they've legitimately been doing.0 -
The problem is their use of codes, there are many wrappers with the same barcode and time code and therefore they cannot prohibit swapping, because multiple people will use the same codes anyway. The original T&Cs were very vague, open to interpretation and we have not broken their own rules. Because they cannot stop swapping as a result of not using unique codes, they are now limiting wins per person. Still think it is unfair if you have won before the 3rd you cannot win again, because at that time the T&C's you agreed to allowed for new wins every day.0
