I've just had notification from my bank that my McVities cheque has bounced ...before I ring McVities has anyone else had this happen ?

When a cheque has "bounced" you need to find out what the reason given was I have a feeling whoever it happened to said it had been stopped because McVities sent out double cheques but I'm not too sure. It should be easy enough to get McV to sort it out (well as well as they are sorting anything out).

The time to worry is if a cheque you have paid in gets returned with the answer "Refer To Drawer Please Represent" which normally means the person who sent you the cheque has insuffcient funds at the time and you should speak to them but pay it in again.

The real worry is if you get a cheque returned just "Refer To Drawer" which means not only do they not have sufficient funds but no chance of them having enough to pay it in the future. Speak to them but send the boys round.

The latter two I don't think would ever apply to Bonkers For Biscuits.

    Hope this helps

Forgot to mention that it bounced because of insufficient funds - that's what bothered me. The bank were very surprised too.

Glad that some of you have received your outstanding cheques, well done.
I still have 4 not received. 1 of them was a questionable code, it was a bit smudged but i sent it off anyway in the hope i would get the £100, but i'm not chasing that one as i know it was smudged. But the other 3 were definately right. I've emailed and phoned and still not getting anywhere, so i think i will give up now, i've had enough.
See you all on the next big sharing comp.
