STILL no sign of last cheque. I think a call has to be made on monday if i don't receive it by then. Yeh they say they've apparantly dispatched it, but they can't expect to blame the royal mail strikes as it was called off recently. Anyway im probably gonna ask them to cancel and re-issue another one so will wait and see what happens.

This sounds dreadful hope you get it sorted.
If it helps you or anyone, a friend and her husband who were not sharing on here both won within days of each other and she posted off both in the same envelope. Again only 1 has been paid and no answers about the second. Maybe this is another of the handling companies "tricks" along with the "no record of it arriving" and "wrong wrapper sent" excuses?
  • I have finally got round to filling in a claim form with royal mail for a missing wrapper it was a £50 share with amyjane I sent the wrapper she never recieved it I paid the £25 to her myself and I am now going to claim £39 from Royal mail this is the max for a recored delivery.

Now what do I put in the Item description box  it says to be accurate as they might find the item but obviously if they found the wrapper it is no use now etc.

    Thank you for your help
Big Thanks to all those who post competitions you are stars!

The problem with Royal Mail is that they will only pay out the value of the item posted and in this case it is an empty biscuit wrapper which is valueless. They don't take into account a competition prize value, only the price of an empty wrapper. This happened with a win my nephew had with my code. I thought I had sent it by the best method with 1st class recorded delivery but this is not the case at all. Apparently I would have been better sending it with 'added consequential loss'. They sent a letter of apology and a book of first class stamps as a 'gesture of goodwill'.:mad:

I honestly don't know when Royal Mail ever pay this supposed £39 compensation out. I have had a few different things go missing when sending recorded and I've never had anything other than the apology letter and book of 6 first class stamps.

Unfortunately I think Royal Mail will do pretty much anything to get out of paying up.... I recently sent a registered delivery packet overseas (at a cost of over £5 for a small packet) which somehow got lost in their system.... eventually (after many many telephone calls and the packet coming and going to Spain several times) we had the packet returned empty..... I claimed for loss and they refused to pay out due to my claim being beyond 6 months of postage (even though it took them over 6 months to return the package....!!!!). 5 letters, many phone calls and 7 months later they paid out (it was only a minimal claim anyway.....) but only when I wrote to the directors office at Royal Mail.....

I really hope you guys all get this sorted out - both those with Royal Mail issues and those with issues with McVities..... Good luck all xx

I can never understand why the Royal Mail have a Recorded Delivery system which is tracked at the post office you send it from and scanned again at its destination but no where in between and they are never unduly worried when a Recorded Delivery doesn't reach its destination.

Once again really McVities are at fault they recommended Recorded Delivery, people have Recorded Delivery receipts,(I even have photos of the envelopes) Screen shots of their winning notification & I even took photos of winning packets. I'm still awaiting cheques for my Mum's friend & a friend of mine they have been signed for but will still feel happy when everything has been accounted for.

    It's been hard work!!!!
