  • Fair point about codes as I still have lots to get through but I don't agree with the need for anything other than cast-iron proof to refuse to pay out. Workin in Law I would suggest that for McVities to make a decision not to pay out they would have to have it cast-iron otherwise they will need to prove in a Court of Law why they have withheld winnings due to a competition winner and without that cast-iron proof there would be lots of small claims submitted for this (I can help should the situation arise) and lots of attendances in courts up and down the country or alternatively filing of written defences which could easily be knocked straight out of court without a cast-iron piece of proof.

Not only would this lose McVities the winnings but also costs to be paid to the person pursuing their claim and court fees. All in all a few hundred pounds at a time to quibble what may well be less than that.

I think McVities will have learned lots from this comp but with 5 days left to go won't want to create such a fracas and undoubted publicity should they pursue such action. But that's just my opinion and I do respect others who don't feel the same way :-)

I don't think McV would expect people to go through the small claims court over a £50 win or even a £250 win and they're probably right, particularly given the legal arguement McV could come up with based on linking wins on their records to wins posted here and other posts by those winners.

I don't think there would be much publicity generated and if there were I'm sure they would have little trouble spinning it real nice...
  • So...........anyone any ideas what the next collective comp will be? Magic Mystery Voices is now extended for like another 6 weeks beyond it's original date thanks to them making a boob on their calculations (worked out prize pot on 24 hours a day when comp only ran for 11 hours a day so they've had to extend in line with the prize pot) but it's much more tame than this one and as yet doesn't have the gripping will I wont I (inifitely more weighing on the wont I) win something!!!! Doritos is good but a little easy (not to win but enter and T&C's much more water-tight) and not as 'realtime' as this - are there any other 'grippers' out there at the mo?
  • Oh god I hope not

Magnum, Pepsi, MSN, McVities............we need a break before Big Snap.....pleeeeeeeeeease!

What is the Doritos one? Is that where you can win an Xbox every day (or am I confusing it with something else?)

  • That's the one - Xbox every day (think it's 3 a day as there's 3 draws, one at 7pm, one at 9pm and one at 11pm) but they've been very strict saying you can't enter multiple times and all kinds of other jiggery pokery seems to be at play as we can only enter once a day at work as we all use the same server and IP address but I think that's fair enough - am guessing McVities are wishing they had taken the same sort of caution with their comp!!!!
