Well, check-in has closed.
In his situation I would not have bothered changing money: I am sure that cash can be exchanged in Mexico. I just hope that his travel insurance offers something. Otherwise, see if you can find a cheap last-minute deal for him so that they can go somewhere else without having to leave the airport (if you see what I mean).0 -

They made it with literally a minute to spare.
He didn't get money changed, he didn't have time. He will just have to get money in Mexico as Voyager said.
As a parent, I suspect I'm better off not knowing what speed he was doing.
Now that the panic is over, his girlfriend is giving him serious earache. Personally I think she should wallop him too.

Glad he made it :j:j0 -
Pleased he made it.
He should have no problems changing his money in Mexico. Just thought I'd let you know to put your mind at rest!
If he's a bit scatty, tell him to put his exit visa money in his passport now, so he's got it for the return journey. I forget how much it is, but you have to pay cash at the airport on departure. Here I go again on my own....0
