    morning all!

didn't get chance to read or post yesterday.

Belated happy Birthday wishes to Anniestar:beer:

have come down with a cold:mad: typical when its my weekend off and I'm off to a wedding.

DS2 is off to his first music festival later - Nozstock in Bromyard, he is camping for the weekend with friends - we've given him the lecture about drugs etc(he's 17) and said to ring us if any probs and we will get him as its only about 10 miles away.

Today is also the funeral in Bromyard of the youngest soldier to die in Afghanistan at only 18. Mum is going to be there with her British Legion standard and there will be a lot of people there to show their respects. It is very sad and I really feel for his family as my boys are similar ages.

OS - house reasonably clean. WM on. I'm sleeping in at work so DH has got to fend for himself.

Hope you all have a lovely day.
    Take care x

    :hello:Morning!

Off to an early (and very gentle) Tai Chi class in a mo, then off to the MS centre for some oxygen therapy - Not sure yet if it is helping but it certainly helps me to sleep for a couple of days!

Yesterdays Blackberry jelly in the tefal jam maker ended up as a huge jug of blackberry syrup!!!:rotfl:I guess I really should go buy a bottle of jam pectin for next time! Never mind I am sure it will be lovely on ice cream!

DD phoned with a bad headache last night so fingers crossed she is feeling better today and it hasn't developed into anything worse. It is a worry now she has left home.

    ((((Hugs))) to everyone

    Catz x

    Morning all:j:j
Well the suns out here this morning:j:j
And its friday again, Im sure that when i was working that the weeks did not go by this fast. I also can not belive that its been nearly 8 months since i lost my job:eek: time goes by so fast.

Well we went out to the local shopping centuer yesterday. Did nor get any bargins but we did get the photos from the twins first birthday printed up at boots. 83 of the things. cost just over £16:eek:
We also brourt one of the take away currys again from ASDA. there still on roll back for a fiver:T Must try the ones from tesco at some point.
So dinner last night was curry and a bottel of wine. The red asda smart price stuff is well worth its money. we have tryed them all now from the diffrent countrys in the smart price range all good and all under a £4. also we have tryed a couple of the white smart price ones too. Unless you look at the lable carefully i.e. at the very bottem you and not tell thay are asda smart price. only a very small logo on them.

Off to the local town center later. Got a few things to get.
The twins are getting better every day now. Thay did wake up once in the night. could not breath. But getting much better now.

Luch will be a sandwich too day. might have some cheese and crakers after too.

Dinner tonight again no plans as of yet will update later.

Well i hope that you all have a great day
enjoy yourslefs and i hope that the sun comes out were you are.:j:j

Morning Chums well the weather looks a bit brighter today and my plan is to do a list of all my to-do jobs. Not earth-shattering but essential.
You know all those little things that you think 'I must do that when I get a moment .But who knows the phone may go, and everything gets put on hold.
One of the jobs is I am going to do is revise my freezer contents list that I have on the front of the freezer to see whats still available, plus I want to do an inventory of my food cupboards. I'm sure I have far too much stuff in there to warrant going shopping for awhile .Last night I only bought milk, bread and potato's so I think I'm on the right track.I shall definitely run down my fridge as its only three weeks until out family holiday to the Isle of Wight and I don't want to be throwing any food out.The trouble is when every I go to give my DD a hand wih the children I always get coerced into staying for dinner in the evening, and the stuff I have fresh in the fridge gets left.
So I'm going to be a bit more careful with what's in there and if necessery take stuff round to her ,she only lives a few streets away from me.
I know I have some cucumbers that someone gave me from their greenhouse and I don't think I will eat three of them.I also have some carrots that will be peeled ,blanched and bunged in the freezer for later, a bargain last night from Mr Ts at 16p for a big bag of those tiny french ones that are so sweet.
I still have some painting to do as well that's been sitting in the conservatory for a week, only a bit of an extra top coat for some small shelves.
All in all I think I have a busy day ahead with lots of catching up to do.
Hope you all have a pleasant and productive day
    Cheers JackieO xx

    Morning everyone :hello:

The girls are still asleep so I've done a few chores and brought the laptop back to bed with my coffee. :D
Went to the cinema with a friend last night but it was sold out (our cinema is really tiny) so we went to the pub instead. :D And very lovely it was too.

The continental market started in town yesterday so I got lots of bread and cheese and and olives for tea last night. My friend who does my ironing came in the afternoon and as she left OH managed to spill all the wine over the freshly ironed clothes. I nearly cried. :o It is all back in the wash and her time and my money were wasted.

MIL coming over today...the joy....and I'm taking her to an open garden in return for her taking me for lunch. Then the girls are off to her house for the weekend while OH and I catch up on the DIY. ;) :D

MSD....You are wise to remove the lily pollen but I never do. Hence me sniffing my lillies yesterday and then going off into town. Only on my return and after some very funny looks did my friend tell me I had an orange eyebrow. :o The children hadn't mentioned it as they thought it was make up.
    Bitsy...good luck for today
Aussie...hope DH continues to improve and your niece gets some relief soon. x
Catznine it's lovely to see you posting. You always have something to contribute.:A
Hope work is ok N9eav. Watch that grumpiness though. :naughty: Mioliere nearly reported you there. ;):p:D
I agree about the young soldiers Taplady. It breaks my heart to see their young faces on the news and to think about their poor parents.
Glad your nephew is home Sistercas. :j

    Take care all

    Morning All!
Sunny here in Hastings.:T Taking my Dad to hospital at 12.00 he's in for a day for another hernia op. Had one last year, and he stayed with me, but this time he's in his own home, as he drove me nuts last year!:rotfl: I love him to bits, but he's a nightmare to live with. I didn't realise till she died, how much my Mamma used to keep him in check!

DS is getting used to the idea of being a student. I'm so pleased for him, now he's got two years of working hard for his degree:rotfl:

Hastings week starts tomorrow. Things on all week, then next Saturday, Carnival and fireworks. Well worth it.

Bitsy -Glad you feel better today, we all have days like that hun, just go with it!

    Enjoy the day!
    I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Taplady - I so agree with you about the sad loss of so many young men. As the mother of sons aged 27 and 37, it breaks my heart. At the risk of being controversial, I often wonder if there would have been these wars if Tony Blair's sons were in the forces, and at risk of having to serve in the war zones? My heart goes out to all the families who have lost loved ones.

Redruby - well done to your DD getting some work with you. Will you be her boss at work as well as at home?!

Sistercas - (((hugs))) to your poor nephew. What a miserable way to spend a holiday. I hope he is recovering well.

Jackie0 - I did a freezer inventory the other week, wrote everything down on a big piece of card which I stuck to the side of the freezer with a magnet. So far, by some miracle, I have ticked off everything I've taken out of it - except today's chicken, and the crumble mix which I made and froze last week and have just used for pudding, which I must remember to tick off! It has certainly helped with planning each week's meals and with the shopping list. I hope to be able to get into the habit of using the inventory properly. Over here, they do bargain periods of meat, so one time you'll get all different cuts of pork on offer, the next time, it will be lamb, and so on. They also have unusual cuts, too, quite unlike those we get in the UK. I bought a load of thick chunky really succulent beef a few weeks ago and it must have done five meals so far, with another three to go, all for about €5 - a real bargain.

HJ - I think I would have cried at that happening to all my ironing! I did laugh at the eyebrow story! Fancy your girls thinking it was make-up!

Halight - glad the twins are getting better and better.

Hilstep - good luck to your Dad with his op!

Well, back to the grindstone. I have another plum crumble in the oven, all the prepping for dinner has been done, washing is on the line with another load about to go out, and the BM has nearly finished. The ironing keeps looking at me, and I may do some this afternoon - I'll see if I can be bothered. I should do really if we want to wear some clothes tomorrow night; we're going to a 'race night', to raise money for a local charity. We pick a horse for €3 each, and the organisers have DVDs of races that we bet on. It's the first one we've been to, so I have no idea how it works, but it should be fun, and there's a chicken dinner for €5 each, too, so I won't have to cook tomorrow, and that's half the fun for me!

    Anyway, have a great day.

  • 'Morning all! Not caught up on yesterday's thread yet (why do I always seem to be typing that?!?!) so (((HUGS))) to all in need.

Had planned lots of OS, mainly housework & sorting stuff, yesterday for my daty off - but ended up feeling very tired and a bit sicky so decided to be kind to myself and the little bean and rested up all morning dozing with my book (I'm not sleeping well at nights, can't seem to get the temperature right and have to get up 6 or 7 times to Pee!).

Went to see Dad in the - not sure what to call it? Home? Unit? - in the afternoon, and was really pleased he seems to be making progress! He knew who we were, and where he was! He looks better - still painfully thin but had some colour in his cheeks, and he was doing the crossword! He used to do them all the time, but has not been able to the last few months as he couldn't make sense of the clues...it's only the one in the Mirror paper (he used to do the Times) but it's a start. He couldn't finish it but did about half, and then I 'helped' him with the rest by prompting him and jollying him along, and we got it finished.
Nurses say he has put on 2lb in weight, and shaved himself yesterday, which is also great. I think it's a combination of smoking a lot less (he was chain-smoking rollups at home, but now can only smoke outside if there is a nurse to accompany him, so he's only having a few a day) and eating better. The Dr told him a couple of years ago that the smoking prevents oxygen getting to the brain, so slows it down, but he would not believe it!

Managed a shop in Mr ASDA afterwards and got a few reduced bargains, so had Italian potato wedges (down to 20p a packet) with the bolognaise I already had planned (and actually managed to make without running to the bathroom!).
Tonight is chicken & ham pie (from the freezer) with new pots & green beans (beans from mum's garden yesterday) - not sure how many we are feeling as although we are supposed to have the DSK's, now they are all 3 teens, they are here, there & everywhere and I can't keep up!
See, I am trying to get back to my meal-planning, but keeping it simple just in case I need to retire to the bathroom and leave DH to it!

Well, I've waffled on enough for now! Have a good day everyone!

    FE -x-
