Oops, forgot to post last night :o No wins yesterday or today on the bingo but I didnt expect to win again, I've been very lucky on there already. 2 x 10p on the scratchcards this morning, gradually nudging closer to the payout level. I have spent a bit in the last couple of days though; £4 on some chocs for a friend at work, £3 on lunch yesterday, £1.70 on a train ride at the beach tonight, 50p car park, £3 lunch today.

Last night at ds swimming lesson he managed to jump in for the first time ever (normally sits on the side and refuses), AND he managed to swim about 5-10m without a woggle / armbands :j :j Finally after months and months of lessons it feels like we're getting somewhere :D Tomorrow night is parents evening, I'm kinda looking forward to it but am a little nervous, will see what they have to say tomorrow :o

    Fab news!!

Parents evening will be fine - you know what DS is like, how he can be, and also you see all sides of him so you know that for any negative comment that is bandied around tomorrow, you can provide at least one positive one about him.

The worst bit about it is his 'father' comes along too, to show what a devoted, caring parent he is   I resent him being there as he has nothing whatsoever to do with his schooling, he doesn't ever even listen to him read a story let alone know the first thing about what he does at school, and tbh he never even asks:o but of course, he wants to be seen to be the great all-singing all-dancing wonderful parent  I just find it really odd having him there, it feels like theres a stranger sitting listening in to the conversation  I know he could ask to see the teacher separately but even that would feel odd too, like why should they be discussing my son with someone who has no involvement in it all??

Such a shame that the paternal figure comes along, luckily for me, DD's hasn't yet asked a single question about her school, he only knows which school she goes to as he has seen her once since she started and she showed him her school bag, so thankfully I was able to go alone to parent's evening last night :)

Does he ask when the parent's evenings are? Could you just *forget* to let him know next time?

He knows theres one a term, once I forgot to tell him when something was and he phoned the headteacher up and God knows what he said to her but she warned me to watch my back and never tell him anything more than I have to
