Well, finally the end of the decade is here, and its been a strange one for lots of reasons. It started with a 5 hour walk home from london at the millenium, and was really a tale of 2 halves; the first half was the happiest times of my life; I was with the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, we bought our own flat, then in 2003 had our beautiful son. I can vividly remember feeling like I'd burst cos I was so happy, I genuinely didnt know anyone could be so happy, but somehow I knew it wouldn't last
Out of the blue in 2005 I was proved right when he walked out and left us. I honestly have never felt so frightened, alone, scared and ill. On more than one occasion I considered ending it all but couldn't leave ds behind
Anyhow, the second half of the decade has been good and bad; personally its been tough, theres not been one day yet when I haven't thought about everything that he put us through but I have managed to sort our lives out, we have a lovely flat in a beautiful area, I am luckily enough to do a job that lets me spend loads of time with ds and we have great friends and family and overall life is good again.
So here we come to the new decade and what is it gonna bring?? Well hopefully it will be a healthy one, and I'll do my best to make it a happy one for me and dsI can't wait to finally say goodbye to all the bad bits with the old decade and get cracking on the new one, bring it on

Nice post, BB. :T
I remember this night ten years ago when folk thought the world might end because of the Millennium Bug. Who'd have thought it, eh? Had a straight choice between a fancy dress party with my then new girlfriend or Manic Street Preachers at the Millennium Stadium. Trust me to go the wrong way...
Lost my best friend in 2001, two days before the Twin Towers were struck. Relationship broke up the same year, went bankrupt in 2005 too.
Been some good times though, starting right back in November 2000 with the birth of my twins. Wouldn't swop them for all the money in the world.
Good luck BB, I truly hope you find happiness and peace in the next ten years.
Martin

Happy New Year to you Benben, I find your thread a real inspiration, I look at your to do lists and want to go and lie down in a dark room. You show us that anything is possible and I really hope this year is a great one for you.I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

Right, am dressed and have made the beds. The kitchen has had a quick wipe over and the washing machine and dishwasher have both been loaded and are on
Bathroom is fine, just needs a quick spritz later, my room is tidy, but the lounge looks like a bomb has dropped yet again
The plan for the rest of today includes getting stuff down to the garage (can hardly move in the hall), possibly tackling the tree, trying to be creative in terms of moneymaking and maybe a walk down the beachMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000
