Aww thanks Wlshsaver, thats really sweet
Before xmas ds kept on that he wanted some new paints, masking tape and pva glue to make a model bus. I mentioned it to a couple of people who asked for ideas of what to get him for xmas but unfortunately they didn't get them. He has asked since about them so I promised him we'd go and get them today. Oh, what should have been such an easy task ...
First we drove to a nearby town to try whsmiths as I had a calendar to return (got 2 for xmas), anyway luckily it hadn't gone in the sale so was able to exchange for something to the value of 5.99. Great I thought, that should be alright then ... except they didn't do kids paints  and their pva glue was £3.99  Luckily I found a ds game that was marked half price and therefore was £7 so only cost me £1.01, not sure if ds will play it but if not it will be heading towards ebayPicked up the masking tape in a £ shop.
So then we tried sainsburys as our one is big and does loads of non-food stuff, managed to find poster paints (£3.99 but with 25% off) but the queues were horrendous. We queued for 15 minutes and then they came up at full-price, the queue at customer services had about 30 people in it so I didn't bother going there. I was in a foul mood by the time we came out of there
Ended up going to a local shop for the glue and got a big tub for 99p, so altogether spent £6 on bits for him so that will come out of his piggy bank as he's had enough new stuff in the last week that if he wants this stuff h has to pay for it himself
I ended up spending 35p on the car park, £3 on some ham and £1.50 on some platicine and milk. Not planning on venturing out again today. Since we got home ds hasn't shown the slightest interest in painting / glueing and is playing happily with his buses instead :rolleyes:Mortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

that doughnut kit sounds fantastic, where is that from? Bad luck on the cable, things seem to go wrong at Christmas when its already an expensive time of the year!0

Is it not guaranteed for so long? Doesn't seem that long since you got it?0

I got one with the laptop about a year ago and that only lasted about 6 months and since then I've been using the spare one I bought for the old laptop but the bit snapped off it last night  I think its because I move the laptop around a lot but surely they're deigned to be portable?? The last one cost me about £30 I think but pc world charge about £60 for them  I'll try Maplin this morning instead I think.
We're off to Tigz's at lunchtime which I'm looking forward to, ds got dressed straight away when he got up today (unheard of!) cos he's so excited
Will be back later, must go before the battery runs out completely on hereMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Oh and I got mine online, it's a proper HP one which cost me £30ish... you're more than welcome to have a look at mine today, they delivered the next day too. I went through 4 cables before getting this one. I had 2 belkin ones which are universal but they stopped working after a few months and Staples said they'd had a lot returned!"Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little." I've been trawling ebay, its only the connector bit for the end I need as the actual power bit is fine, but they dont have any that would fit mine, a definite niche market, they go for about £1 on there but looks like I'll have to shell out for a whole new one
 Grrr .....
