    Well done to hilstep's son!!!

Lovely to see you Anniestar - really pleased that you're having a good birthday. The Neals Yard frankincense cream if wonderful - smells great and is lovely and nourishing. Didn't know they did a facial mist as well.

    Afternoon all,

Happy birthday Anniestar....just saw your post, hope that Mark's health continues to improve. Don't leave it as long again, we miss you.

Hugs to all who are in need or want of one.

OH and I took DD2 out for lunch today, DD4 looked after all children...really enjoyed ourselves were gone for more than 3 hours, very seldom we get to spend time with just her, will take DD4 out another time to celebrate her getting a job.

Just a sprinkle of rain here to-day, DD2 got most of her 2 lines of clothes dry, just need airing now...she also bought me a book I had admired while we were out as a belated birthday present, its the 'real guide to sustainable living', so we will be living off our acre if I get going on it! Not sure how OH will take that, he thinks I am mad anyway with some of the economies I make, so will be interesting to say the least!

Dinner to-day for children and DD4 was chips, eggs and beans and I have a small piece of steak which I will give to OH if he has any supper, although we ate a huge meal at lunchtime so nobody may eat much later.

Os has been non-existant so far, will do some knitting later on, might go shopping in the morning if not will do a large baking session to-morrow, need to fill up my oven when I bake so that it will be economical to use oven....so sorry that I didn't buy a double oven last year when we did the kitchen, may buy something small at some stage so that I won't always have to do a mountain of baking just because I want something nice for tea!

    Have a good evening all

Hilstep -Well done to your DS!

    Welcome back Domestic Goddess.

halight - Glad you decided against being a hermit :p

SunnyGirl - If you're well enough to read this, I hope you're starting to feel better xx

Penny_Pincher - Hope you're not feeling too rough atm, I know this weather doesn't agree with you xx

catznine - Nice to see you :hello:

Just after I logged off this morning it started raining, so the towels ended up in the dryer after all, but this afternoon it finally cleared up, so DH's socks are on the Lakeland sock dryer, hanging on the line. We went to Lidl, but didn't get one of the airers - they are only £6.99, but there just isn't room for one that size in our house  Can't be helped. We did get some nice peaches and nectarines at any rate! And some cod fillets provencale, which we'll have for tea with some local new potatoes we found at the greengrocer's/butcher's.

Lost an earring this morning - it must have got dislodged when I was putting up/putting down the hood of my rainjacket. It was from my favourite pair - shaped like little starfish - so I'll have to look out for another pair similar.

Hope everyone has a good evening.

Tesco delivery this morning at 11 then DD arrived with DGD & DGS, so we walked to the river, got soaked in the rain, fed the ducks, watched the boats going through the lock, had chips & ice cream, played in the park, got dry in the sun, came home & now I'm cream crackered. We'll do it all again next week. Hubby will finish work in an hour, pork chops for tea with mushrooms.
    Have a good evening.

Happy Birthday Anniestar nice to see you posting:bdaycake:

    Congratulations to Hilstep's son.

Well have been to the hospital and they were unable to do the test fully - due to complications ( I won't go into details here) so now I have to go in and have it done under general anaesthetic. It was quite (well quite a lot) painful but at least I won't know about it the next time!!!!! So now I will have to have a pre-op assessment and then get it over with!

Oh well, I am going to look forward to the weekend now, the weather has ended up lovely here this evening - I suppose it is too much to expect it to last a couple of days:rolleyes:

Getting the caravan sorted out this evening as we have not been away in it for quite a few weeks. Really looking forward to going away.

Have put washing out in the hope that it will dry - first time in days that we have been able to dry anything outside.

    Have a good evening everyone

Just saw Ivyleaf's post about Lidl and airers - I need a new one might have to go and look tomorrow!

Have had another mad day not stopped but done nothing either. Did manage to get to the library have loads of books including Austerity for Britain someone mentioned on here (sorry cant remember who) which is massive, and how to Suck Eggs about what our grandmothers could teach us about OS - definately looking forward to that one. Wont be doing much reading tonight as plan to have an early night in front of New Tricks & hopefully get up early tomorrow morning and really get something done.

MIL visit done and dusted :j she bought OH some chocolate which is always good and a bottle of Jack Daniels Barbeque sauce which I love but he doesnt :D at least it is stuff we will use. However the frog candles (he doesnt particualy like frogs ) will be going in the boot sale box.

    Evening All

Two days in a row of getting on here - that's a first for a long time.

Had a busy day here. My neighbour came over and helped me make some cards ready for a sale on Sunday:T Then a friend came round to talk about how I can help him promote his new book.

Not felt too great today with an ongoing headache. Also having a skin flare up:mad:

Not eaten much today really. I had some soya milk for breakfast, a slice of HM lemon drizzle cake for a break from card making and just had trout, new pots & cauliflour for dinner. The fish was a good deal as was a huge side of trout for £4:beer:

Just doing some surveys and going to see if a "bargain" bracelet is affordable ready for Mum's 60th

    Hope everyone's ok

happy slightly delayed birthday to Anniestar and congrats to Histpes son.I had a smashing day with the boys even though it started to rain mid afternoon. We had our picnic and fed the ducks and went to the visitors centre and the 5 year old wanted to take the wormery home for his Mums garden. Talked him out of that one with distraction therapy ( a smarties pop-up ice cream) came home when the rain came down and spent the rest of the afternoon playing domino's and cards.lads were brilliant and looked after me very well. tried to explain that although I was an old woman I didn't actually remember the dinasaurs or the ice age :) Smashing time was had by one and all.
Off to read my Ruth redell book now and put up my feet for awhile
    Night all
