  • Hi everyone

Its been ages since I have been on here, probably not since I moved house in November and I really need to get back into being more old style.

When I moved house, I was hoping to become debt free but, as ever, it didn't work out according to plan and I still have some debts to pay off. I have also slipped back into my old habits and have been spending a fortune on stuff I don't really need.

I am off work today so have had a good clean of the house so far, Stardrops was one thing I didn't forget about. I have ordered some Soap Nuts (free sample) and I am just about to do a meal plan.

So, anyway, I'm back and I look forward to getting to know all of the new faces on here....

    AFternoon all,

Happy Birthday Anniestar if you look in - hope life is good with you.
big (((Hugs)))) for bitsy, patchwork-cat & anyone else feeling stressed or needing one....
welcome back DomesticGoddess too (and any other newbies/returners)

DonnyG - well done that Big Issue Man! Luckily your caravan didn't go too, it's the having to sort it all out again with things like that which becomes a complete pain in the backside..
EssexGirl - you rant away... Some people are very "me me me"...(the MIL, not you, lol!!!)

Am sure I was going to say lots more, no idea what it was as just gone blank! That will be the excitement of picking up my new (to me) car this morning... Got a black (& tinted windows!!!) Zafira; decided to finally cave in & buy a bus, otherwise I end up driving people round in relay. It's lovely - definitely a bit bigger than my little peugeot 206 was though!! I am sure I will get used to it soon.

Youngest DD is currently baking some cakes, and I am doing an M&S lemon & herb spatchcocked chicken for dinner later (used a voucher I'd had since last Xmas to buy it with), plus some extra chicken bits as my mum is coming too, with my little niece. Will probably do jacket potatoes & coleslaw with it so that will be a simple supper.

Oldest DD is about to hoover hall, stairs & landing in return for me giving her the £27 for her first driving lesson later (it's a 2 hour assessment one with the chap who taught me as a teenager - so he now feels very old :) lol )

I am going to get my dress patterns out & trace off a smaller size first (for DD's) before I cut my more generous size out...

    Have a good day all!!

    :hello: Hi everyone!

    Happy Birthday Anniestar! :bdaycake:

Just looking in, I often look in and have a read even if I don't post. I don't feel I have anything useful to contribute most days but today want to send a big thank you to Aussie Lass who answered my call for help when I was overwhelmed with courgettes from the garden and also answered my query about her recipe this morning. There was plenty of liquid and adding the cornflour made all the difference! I will try that in my other recipes! I now have 10 jars of yummy courgette relish :j
I can thoroughly recommend this recipe btw.

Just resting before I go play with my early birthday pressie - a tefal jam maker from lakeland!:j I'm hoping to make some blackberry jelly using up some of last years blackberries from the freezer. I have loads in there so hope to make up several batches. Just hope I have saved enough jars!

(((hugs))) to BB and Patchwork cat and anyone else who could use one

    Catz x

    Afternoon all.

    Happy Birthday Anniestar.

    Congratulations to Hilstep's DS.

((((HUGS)))) to the friends here who are poorly/worried/fed up/tearful. I'm not gonna do a long list, you know who you are!:o

Well, Mr LW looks a lot tidier now his hair's been cut. We had a look round afterwards for a throw to put on the new sofa when it arrives, for when I have canine guests, but no luck. John Lewis have some, but they're very heavy and also mega-expensive. I want a reasonably cheap, lightweight one I can chuck in the WM when the canine guest has gone home. Might have a look on the market perhaps. I'm sure there are some available that are like lightweight blankety things with paw print designs, I just have to find out where to get one.

Most exciting thing today was getting a free sample of Dove body wash in the post... how sad am I?:rotfl:

Afternoon all, thank you all so much for your lovely wishes.
I was really shocked (and moved and delighted) when I got a text from an OSer telling me to have a look on today's board. I was moved to tears(nice ones) thank you.
Woke up to torrential rain:j(sorry I don't like sun at all:o)and some lovely fresh coffee.

Celebrated in the usual OS way (a la Hester) then more coffee chocks and fresh fruit.
I got some lovely pressies- a very nice Elspeth Gibson cup and saucer and set of matching cake tins; a cinnamon reed difuser; Neals yard gift box consisting of Frankincense facial mist and hydrating cream; two Lilly Allen CD's; two boxes of knickers(everyday not saucy) and some chocolate tools.
I am told that there is something else due in the next few days.

I haven't really felt like posting as things here haven't been fantastic. Marks health has been like my Laptop charger flickering and patchy. Hopefully finally on the up. He is now on different medication and tons better.
I am struggling a bit but that is for another day (and it is being sorted shortly anyway).

    Take away for tea tonight:j
The rest of today will consist of Music :j(you know who:rotfl::j Have listened to Lilly-very good- now my beautiful boys:A.:j)
Watching Breakfast at Tiffany's, having the odd glass of vino collapso, and other fattening stuff.:o

Hillstep :j congratulations to your clever son.:T

HUGS to everyone. I don't mean to offend anyone-omissions are all due to advancing years.:rotfl:

I know I have missed loads of important things on here over the last few months. I am sorry. 99% of the time I couldn't even bring myself to switch the laptop on but you were always in my thoughts.

Have a wonderful day and again, as always THANK YOU.
I don't deserve you all but i am glad you are there.:A

    Take care, Ann xxx
