    Hi everyone.

Nic - good luck with the tests today. Make sure you treat yourself to something afterwards!

Patchwork Cat - good luck to you, too, with the hysterectomy but also with getting all the uniform sorted out. I well remember that when mine were still at school!

Donny-gal - hope your caravan is safe and that your neighbours at least get their belongings back, if not the caravan. Lucky that chap stopped you from sustaining a serious injury!

Halight - glad the twins are feeling better and that they got a good night's sleep. They'll really keep you occupied now!

Well, dinner tonight is home made burgers, salad and chips, with the rest of yesterday's bread-and-butter pudding for afters.

I need to go to the shops today and I intend to drive on the right (right!) side of the road, after my mistake the other day. I want to get some bits and pieces to make a 1st Wedding Anniversary card for my DS2 and DIL - can't believe it'll be a year on 8th August since they got married! Time really does fly, doesn't it? Their first baby is due a week after the anniversary, so lots of celebrations in the offing. The cards here in France are nowhere near as good as in the UK, and they're expensive, too, so I've decided to make one instead.

Anyway, the kettle has boiled and I am need of another coffee before I go out.

From what I can see on breakfast TV, the weather is slightly better in the UK, apparently. I hope you all have a good day. I still will not tell you what the weather is like here - it wouldn't be fair! Seriously, I don't gloat about it because I want my family and friends back home to have good weather too. I feel so sorry for families that are camping - it must be so miserable for them.

    See you all later.

    KathyXX

Happy Birthday, Anniestar! If you're lurking, come back!

wow patchwork cat your school pick expensive uniforms domt they:mad: really lucky rojnd here in that both the high school and upper school mine go through dont bother with blazers all of the uniform can be picked up in tesco or asda -the high school sell a jumper with their badge on for a tenner but asda/tesco plain navy will be accepted as an alternate:T.
sorry to hear about the hysterectomy, i hope you arent in too much pain now you can 'feel' it.

must ring the inlaws and see if they ae using their garden recycling bags this week we cut the conifers back and DH has crammed so much into our bags i can't lift them so i know the bin men will refuse to take them unless i make them lighter (he does weight lifting so forgets whats easy for him is almost impossible for normal people :rotfl:.

    Morning peeps
Thanks you for kind thoughts re DH. He is still snoozing away. I decamped to another room at first symptoms of flu (if it is that) so we have both been having a very sound sleep, although we miss each other!! aawww! Still ,each morning when I wake up and feel fine |I think it's a bonus as I'm bound to catch it at some point, even though I disinfect everything and give him his own set of crockery, towels etc. I've been careful since he became ill but I think he would have been infectious before.
    Anyway, enough of that.
Nic1Lou2 - good luck for today. I'm sure they will put your mind at rest. Enjoy your break this weekend.
AussieLass- speedy recovery to your DH
Halight - that chicken and cheese dish sounds fab. We are having chicken breasts tonight but I was just going to bake them in some spices and then slice cold through a salad. Not sure now.
More gardening for me at some point today. Thanks for the idea about getting back to the estate agent, Floss. I have cleared 7 bags now so aim for another 3 today and will ring them. It helps that it has been mostly sunny here in Suffolk - sorry to hear about so much rain for lots of you. It is difficult to keep littlies entertained. When mine were small, we still lived in Scotland so they were a bit more used to wet summers! We are moving back. I've been in Suffolk for 17 years - where did that time go?
Ok, another cup of tea then I will have to get washed and dressed (lazy me this morning!) and take the rubbish to the tip. Oh - we had a hedgehog in the middle of the grass last night when dogs went out for last widdle. I could just see a dark shape and got my DH to go out with a torch (yes, with his flu!!) and I peered behind him - I'd said it might be a hedgehog or a big unmoving rat so he wasn't very keen! Anyway, neither dog of course would do anything (great excitement for them) so I had to take them down the road to the grass patch for a bedtime wee.
    Enough of that excitement.
Hope you all have a lovely day. (((hugs))) to those feeling under the weather, sad or troubled.

    Morning everyone.
Late here this morning. Had terrible nights sleep and both kids have been up since 4.45am this mornig.
Feel pretty low in spirits today for reasons that I shan't bore you with. Feel like i am on the verge of tears so I need to get a grip.
Got to take library books back this morning. Don't think I can face Fly lady thread today, too tired.
Tea will be something from freezer as I haven't got the chicken out the freezer for SC casserole that we should be having.

Sorry haven't replied to any comments, I have read all the posts but I am not going to hang around on here for much longer - just don't feel in the mood.
Have a good day all OS or not.

    Morning All!
Sunny at the moment, but clouds are building. Rained last night, so I didn't have to water the garden. Got really sunburnt here on Tuesday:eek:
DD did dinner for me last night. Roast chicken and all the trimmings. Very nice.:T I've taught her well:rotfl:

Anyone got any ideas how to stop pigeons eating from the seed feeders? They fly up and balance flapping their wings, and deprive the sparrows and starlings:mad: Banging on the windows works for about 30 seconds, but back they come.

Hastings Week starts Saturday, with the carnival next Saturday. Hope the weather stays fine for it all.

(((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))) to all who need them.
    Have a great day!

Keep yer pecker up peeps! special thoughts to Bitsy. Sleep deprivation is a terrible thing.
If you are already fed up a very early start doesn't help at all.

Massive storm and torrential rain here. I suppose it could be quite exciting but it's not summer is it?

Tea is spag. bol. from freezer....hurrah no effort needed.:rotfl:

    Morning All

    :beer:Happy Birthday Anniestar:beer:

Well I hope all of you with days out today have a great time.
Patchworkcat you sound v stressed to (((hugs))) to you and anyone else who needs one.

Late post from me, not because Ive had a lie in, but have already had over 5 phone calls this morning. Last couple of days have been like this and Im struggling to get much done.

Did manage to get to town with DD to get her first bank a.c opened. She is 14 and if she can legally work now for me I will get her doing some bits and pieces and she can get paid pocket money. There is quite a bit she can do so will look into that later (if I get the time )

Just about to put a load of washing on the line as its sunny here at the moment. Need to pop into town again today and go to the farm shop for some nice choc & nougat for OH as its his Birthday saturday. Have MIL coming over today to give him his card. She's not happy as we are having our major change at work now and he is concentrating on that - she thinks he is out of order and should be taking her out for a meal as its his birthday!! We are just glad to have a business that we can work hard for. She and fil were given their house by OH's grandparents when they got married, have had several inheritances over the years and are still the tightest people I know - by tight I dont mean moneysaving like us on MSE I mean mean & tight fisted:rotfl:

Opps sorry for the rant but she is one of my most least favourite people in the world.

Think will be chilli for dinner so no chance of MIL staying as she cant bear it :D

Anyway I really should be getting on, so have a great day.

    Morning all :hello:

    Happy Birthday Anniestar
Hope you feel better soon Bitsy. sounds like you need a good sleep pet. x
Hope Aussielad is better soon. x
Have a lovely day with the boys JackieO
I love Herons too Ruby. I saw a family of them on Mull and could have watched them for hours. :o
WMF, it hasn't been a rainy summer in this part of Scotland this year. ;) Hope OH feels better soon.
Good luck for today Niclou. x
    Don't work too hard Celyn.
Hope you get the problems sorted Patchwork Cat.
Glad OH isn't annoying you too much Webitha. Hope he has lots of luck finding a job.

Turned into a beautiful afternoon yesterday again so we went to the park and the playpark. The free halibut was lovely for dinner and then OH wanted to go off in the boat. Needless to say, it still wouldn't go properly and he managed to drift out to sea with Dtwin1 in the boat when the engine died. Luckily he was able to commandeer a dinghy from someone's yacht and row back, pick up his oars which he had handily left on the pier, row back up to where he had tied his boat to the yacht and row his "speedboat" back again. :rotfl:
All was not lost as the mackeral were jumping out of the water so we did a bit of fishing. Dtwin2 showed an unhealthy aptitude for banging fish on the head but wasn't aware that they wriggled for a bit afterwards so half of our catch managed to wriggle back into the water again. :o:rolleyes: Anyway, we have 4 home with us so they will be bbqed for tea.

We've had a shower this morning but the sun is out now so the plan is to tidy up and then get out for the day. The farmer's market is on so we may have lunch there and a walk round the local Priory gardens. Have a friend coming in the afternoon who's been having a rough time so I want to bake her something yummy and cut her some flowers from the garden.

    Take care all. xxx

    Morning all :hello:
WMF, it hasn't been a rainy summer in this part of Scotland this year. ;)

I'm from east coast and moved to England when kids were 5 and 7. Took me a long time to get used to hot summers down here and I still moan about the heat. I've been known to sit out in the garden when it rains  .
    Glad you've had good weather.

:hello: Good morning! Sunny here for a change and I think it's supposed to stay dry today.

Bitsy - Big ((((HUGS)))) to you, you sound as though you need one.

patchwork cat - ((((HUGS)))) to you too.

Aussie - Sorry to hear about DH, hope he feels a bit better today. Glad you had a lovely day with your DSis!

Happy Birthday Anniestar - :bdaycake:Hope you'll look in today and see all the birthday wishes, we miss you!

haribo - sounds like a lovely afternoon yesterday!

jackieO - Glad you managed your trip to the beach after all.

halight - Glad the twins are on the mend, hope you manage to get out today. :rotfl:at the idea of you being a hermit!

Donny-Gal - Thank goodness for the Big Issue man!

Sorry, I know I've missed a lot of people, so (((HUGS))) to all who need some!

Well, WM is on with a load of towels, it sounds as if they should dry on the line today :j

May go to Lidl when DH gets up, as they are meant to be getting some airers in today and the one we have is quite small. But I'm worried that if we get a bigger one, it will be yet another thing to be in the way

Don't know what's for dinner tonight - possibly battered haddock as there's some in the freezer. Thankfully i didn't need to throw any frozen stuff away when we had the power cut last week, as the freezer never got any warmer than -5deg.

    Have a good day
