Last of the month's bills paid today. May be able to do some "Piggybanking" at end of pay month (14th) as budget on track for modest surplus :)

My OH lost her job today :(

This was totally out of the blue. We are both still in a state of shock.

Really really scared for the future...

    Hi, I'm back..

The good news...OH is back in work - started work two weeks ago. The job is temp-to-perm but initial indications are that her new employers are really impressed with her work so far.

The bad news..my car goes in for it's MoT tomorrow and it will probably fail :(. If the repair bill is big then we'll have a major problem as very little to re[air existing car or get a replacement.

Well, the car failed it's MoT but the bill wasn't actually too bad - £225.00ish - which was ok given fact I had money in a Contingency Fund to cover it.

True to form , exhaust has now started rattling but think it's only the heat shield over the exhaust so will get somebody to look at it this week.

Money will be tight this month but manageable so far.

    Keep on debt-busting! :)

Haven't posted in diary for a bit as My OH lost her job again a week ago - she was genuinely ill but employer told Agency she need not bother coming back , which is weird as prior to that , feedback from employer was very good:(

Shock has now worn off so it's back to the grindstone , batten down the hatches and ride out the storm, etc.

The good news...OH started her new job on Monday. Its an admin job in a local office. She's employed via an agency but hope job will last a few months.

    The bad news...pt1

My bank , Co-op phoned last night to say there had been half a dozen suspicious online transactions amounting to about £400.00 , which I had not made. Thankfully, no money went out of my account and debit card has been cancelled. Await new Co-op debit card.

    The bad news...pt2

Drew £20.00 out of cashpoint from YBS bills account, which I needed to get petrol later. Went into petrol station later in day, went to get money out of pocket whilst filling up... no £20.00 note  :(. Thankfully, I had my Lloyds debit card with me , which I normally use for petrol purposes so had enough to pay for £6.00 petrol I'd put in.

Oh well, I've had better days. Just waiting for third bit of bad luck now!

Well , got paid yesterday. Have done Monthly Budget and most of Piggybanking, so everything set up bills-wise :T.

Any additional funds from OH now she is back working will , of course, help the situation :).

Still no replacement debit card from Co-op - account was compromised by attempted online fraud - but I've opened another basic bank account, with Natwest, for my own personal spending funds , which aren't a lot.

On the whole, things now look brighter and a lot less stressful. Onward and upwards...

    Hi Folks

Apologies for not posting for a while but life and other things have conspired to get in way. My OH is well settled into new job and a lot of pressure off due to having two incomes in household. Monthly budgets are less under pressure and will be in position to start "piggybanking" for future expenses, such as Car MoT, insurance, etc.

Have StepChange review in February 2014 so hope to increase monthly DMP to reduce repayment duration, which is currently waaaay far too far away :).

Wishing everyone on The Forum a restful , peaceful and enjoyable Christmas and Positive 2014. :)
