Well, got paid today and Budget for coming month looks ok
Good News is I came in under budget for last month :T - £3.89. Not exactly a King's Ransom but it's the principle that counts!
A Workable Budget + Careful spending + good Record Keeping = Surplus at month end !! Also found 11p change in street
Another "Little Victory" !!!!!
No news on the Redetermination - well they can take as long as they like!!

Oh well, it has to arrive sooner or later, "It" being details of my Redetermination hearing.
Well the date for it is 17th January 2011.
Just need to get all necessary paperwork together regarding how Nationwide have "managed" my overdraft and show judge that making a CCJ payment of £190.00 is somehow not possible if CCCS DMP comes up with £61.00 per month

Received letter from Cabot Financial comfirming transfer of ex-Barclaycard debt to them.
Thankfully, they have had the good grace to accept the dmp amount previously paid to Barclaycard.
So far I've had no hassle with Cabot and hope it continues that wayDFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499

I thought I'd end 2011 on a postive note, made step in the right direction today by joining a Credit Union.
I thought that even if I only put a couple of pounds in there each month , or, use it as my Christmas Savings Fund for 2012 then I'll be starting a "Good Habit".DFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499

Have decided to "split" finances by having a second Basic Account (Lloyds TSB Cash Account) for non-Bills items, such as petrol and train travel. This way I'll be able to monitor spending better and stop money "leaking" out on bits and bobsDFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499

I must admit that I'm really really dreading the 17th i.e. Redetermination Hearing , and have visions of the Judge lambasting me for getting into so much debt and will leave the CCJ at £150.00 - If he / she does this I seriously don't know what I'll do.

Have now opened Lloyds TSB Cash Account, which is a "basic" account.
This means monthly finances are effectively split between Fixed Bills e.g. mortgage, council tax, etc, and Variable Bills e.g. petrol and train travel .
The latter are more or less the same for most months but this method means Fixed Bills money is "ringfenced" in the Co-op account and the Lloyds TSB account is only used for day-to-day travel spending.
Also, the Lloyds TSB account comes with a proper Visa debit card, unlike my Co-op Cashminder card, which is not accepted at local station. I know the Lloyds card can only be used at Lloyds cashpoints and the Post Office but I am not planning to withdraw cash anyway.
Any personal spending money (as if...:rotfl:) still goes into my Smile Savings account, which has a cashpoint (not debit) card accepted at all cashpoints.DFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499

Had Redetermination hearing today.
After brief discussion, Judge decided that Installment Order route not viable due to length of time it would take to repay debt i.e. 19 years. She decided to change existing Judgement to a “Forthwith” Judgement so that Nationwide could proceed with request for Charging Order. However, Judge stated that no attempt may be made by Nationwide to enforce debt without permission of the Court.
In return, Nationwide would then accept repayment by installment at DMP rate.
On reflection, the above is the best result I could have hoped for as this means I'll just continue to pay the DMP and slowly but surely get debt free, which is the thing to focus on. It could be worse, like being made bankrupt and losing house, for example...:o
