Nope I have been saving since 2004. Some people just use their brains and recognise a bubble when they see one and aren't lead like lambs to financial slaughter. :T

Did you have the opportunity in 2004 to buy a house on a 100% mortgage? You could have then sold in 2007 and would probably have banked 5 times more than what you have saved (after paying your rent, council tax bills etc)

Did they ever claim to be one? Houses should be for living and raising families in not investment vehicles.

I came to this conclusion by the fact he had 3 ? Do keep up.

Okay folks time for a little something to cheer us all up on a slow Wednesday afternoon. Name your 3 top reasons why you just love house prices crashing.

    I'll start:

    a) It will enable 'first time buyers' to buy something bigger than a slave-box rabbit hutch;
    b) There will be an end to 'liar loans' with mortgage lending returning to sensible levels; :j
    c) Saving and prudence will be seen as the new spending and mewing. :T

Just for fun what are your own top 3 reasons for sitting back, watching, and enjoying the housing market crashing?

So you racked up a load of debt? Moved in with mummy so they could help bail you out? Now you are here hoping for a crash so you can buy a house? You couldn't make it up.

Love the hyperbole. :rotfl: No no "load of debt" just moved back to mummys in 2004 to sort my finances for a few months which I had done in a year and saved hard ever since. :T I am sorry you find it so offensive  when I find it so liberating. :j

Oh for sure hindsight is a lovely beast, especially none more so for the hundereds of thousands now wallowing hard in negative equity. :T :rotfl:

No i don't find saving offensive, i am all for it having saved all of my life. Unfortunately for me i am married with 3 young children and never had the luxury of moving back home to mummy when things were tough, lucky you. As for your negative equity jibe, I think that pretty much sums you up.
