Okay folks time for a little something to cheer us all up on a slow Wednesday afternoon. Name your 3 top reasons why you just love house prices crashing.
I'll start:
a) It will enable 'first time buyers' to buy something bigger than a slave-box rabbit hutch;
b) There will be an end to 'liar loans' with mortgage lending returning to sensible levels; :j
c) Saving and prudence will be seen as the new spending and mewing. :T
Just for fun what are your own top 3 reasons for sitting back, watching, and enjoying the housing market crashing?

what are your own top 3 reasons for sitting back, watching, and enjoying the housing market crashing?
1) I can read posts from the self obsessed congratulating themselves on how clever they are
2) I can read posts from the self absorbed lecturing me on how I should lead my life
3) I can read posts from people pontificating all day about things they know nothing about, and cutting and pasting text and graphs they that don't understand.'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -
1) I can enjoy far more floor space for my money
2) I can forget dinner party smugness ''look how much my home has increased in value'' type
3) I can get on with fully enjoying my life without being a slave to a mahoosive mortgage.

1. Houses become more affordable. Ideally low enough to allow FTBs to buy with one income; allowing the other to stay home and look after children.
(better for society)
2. Lower debt levels, leaving people with higher disposable incomes to spend or save as they wish.
(better for the economy)
3. An end to the aspirational, debt - fuelled consumerism. People unable to borrow to finance their lifestyle means cheaper products and services for people with savings.
(better for me)

This time next year, average prices will be lower YOY.
100% guaranteed.
Get used to it all you HPI cheerleaders and debt junkies.
It most certanly is not guaranteed my friend, and you could end up looking a right **** for saying so. However, I believe it is likely we will see some further falls over the next 12 months, but no more then 5-7% IMO.
Anyone who thinks prices will fall another 20-30% have their heads well and truly in the sand.0 -
