Just hope for another Blake's Seven revivalsoolin wrote:I did sell sci fi stuff many years ago, but the market really dropped out of that once ebay became well established in the UK.
I remember Mat Irvine coming to our school and bringing all the models he'd made for the series. I bet they'd go for a bit now.Can I help?0 -
The best thing I ever floged on eBay was a wafflemaker,I got three times more than I paid for it.

Most of the time I'm just trying to shift things we dont need no more. Im de-cluttering out attic, or trying at least, got to make space for our kids stuff. This time however nearly all of it is going to a carboot sale since I dont think it would pick up enough interest on eBay.0 -
I accumualte so much rubbish over a year its mad. I usually sell on ebay between January and May to help pay for my season ticket, then don't bother for the rest of the year apart from the odd thing.
I list items and if they don't sell after listing twice I carboot them a week before payment is due (season ticket has to be paid in 3 weeks), so now I'm waiting for my listings to sell or finish by next week then that's it.
I sell CDs, DVDs, books, toys, clothes little 'un has grown out of and stuff I've picked up over the course of the year ... like I say, it's all rubbish. But I do manage to make about £250 after fees, plus about £100 at car boot, so leave me having to find £250 more for my season ticket rather than the full £600 ... so I'm happy with that.
So, who sells as a living and who sells to make a spare few quid???0 -

I sell books, That is it mostly.
As far a using a different user name goes I have found being honest works better for me, So I use the same name everywhere.

I started off selling classical CDs which I bought at car boot sales (I used to be a classical music buyer for a large music retailer, so had a good idea of what to look for) but it was a helluva lot of work typing up all the track listings and getting decent pictures, and didn't make a lot of money, although I did sell 95% of everything I listed.
While I was having a de-clutter, I sold some old jewellery making bits and pieces I had kicking around in a drawer from projects I'd never finished and they went really well, so found a wholesaler who was willing to supply me and I now sell beads and findings.

I just sell items that are de-cluttering the house mainly although with baby no 2 on the way & a 7 year gap between them I have had to start from scratch buying stuff so have relunctantly had to start selling some of my better stuff :-(2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please0

That's a shame Yvonne. Still maybe you can prepare for baby no 2 by nabbing some eBay bargains. I hope so anyway! Hope all goes well for you.
I am currently selling some jewellry which I bought new for presents for another family (lonnnnng story) but never used (not the family, the presents!).
Anyway I have had no interest in the stuff at all at auction or BIN, even with Best Offer, so I am now offering these items at substantially less than I paid. Its very depressing. But I have told myself - these things are paid for already, I need money now, so there's no point crying over the proverbial milk. Still sticks in my gut tho!Stop looking for answers....
