Yorkshire Bank Scandal! Help Needed

Just to square it out a little, I have banked with Yorkshire for 20 odd years ever since they wee the first to introduce daily interest mortgages ( as in Australia ) I have always found them easy to bank with, & I have no complaints. In fact, because we swoped out mortgage to them, we paid it off 8 yrs early & saved thousands of £'s:smileyhea A SMILE COSTS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING0

i always deposit cash in the yorkshire bank letter box, as when they are closed there is no where else to put it, it always gets credited to my accountI personally would never use a deposit envelope so Ive no idea if youre meant to put cash in it or not. I dont bank in Yorkshire either so I cant say what the deposit box is like. I'll have to go in and see if theres a camera overlooking the deposit box.
these things are so frustrating and it's not even my money :mad:0 -
that was a very nice thing to do, thank youflossy_splodge wrote: »I have printed this thread off and will be taking it into my own branch of Yorkshire Bank where they have always been absolutely brilliant.
Someone needs to let them know that we share info and one rogue branch will get them all a bad name.
I will post back this evening as to what is said.
Good luck.0 -
and a nice big thank you to flossy-splodge as well? that is going above and beyond, how nice was thatNO this 100% genuine. Yorkshire got hold of my mother in law this morning and confirmed that they had (finally) checked the CCTV and seen her deposit the money and it all tallied up with regards to timing and drawing cash out from the branch.
The monies are to be deposited back into her account along with charges accrued.
Thankfully this should be the end of it although as ever, its a shame that things only get done when there is potential bad publicity round the corner for a bank. If I hadn't posted on this forum, I'd take a guess that this would have gone the whole 9 yards.
It also doesn't explain where the money went ??
but hey-ho, power to the people and all that and I guess a 'thanks' to Yorkshire Bank for sorting it out.
Thanks for all your help.0 -
Well that's the power of the MSE forum at work!
Thanks to Flossy-Splodge for going to her branch. Lots of nice people here in this community.
It's only a game

FYI. I already PM'd Flossy to say thanks a bunch.
You're right that one branch doesn't represent the company and I hope that the relevant people are dealt with appropriately although the seriousness of what happened will irk me for a while to come and rightly so imo.0 -

I wonder if that late payement gets noted on her credit record????RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

I don't think so, I've had a problem with Barlaycard before where they cancelled my direct debit by mistake and didnt collect my payment and I was consequentally given a late charge which they reversed. I asked them about credit ratings but they said it wouldnt show up - I cant remember the exact reason although it was something like one single late payment doesnt show but a 2nd consecutive late payment would show up both??0 -

Basford,
For future reference, you can tell genuine company representatives who have been approved to post here by the colour of their username, it's purple instead of the usual blue.
