if you are picking the boat up then couldnt you fund your own PP and withdraw to your bank account
then when you go to collect you would have cash in hand and can make sure you are happy with the boat before handing over any cash?

That is a good idea. The easiest safest and quickest way as well. Well thought of

Ok sorry, I can tell some people are getting annoyed with me, I keep asking stupid questions because i don't want to get into something difficult to get out of iykwim.

i have been to paypal and looked at 'limits' and its says to lift limits i just need to verify some information, one more quick question, if i do this to lift the limits will paypal raise my account to a 'premier account' that you have to pay for from and personal account that you dont pay for?

    sorry! xx

    Ok thanks.

Typhoon, If i did open a paypal account in other halfs name it would have to be with the same current account that is listed on my paypal becuase we both use this account for mortgage etc...So would that cause a problem?

does anyone know what the sending and withdrawing limits are then???

I dont know what the limits are but I have sent and received more than that with no problems. I have a verified Permier account with a credit card on file. I dont know if that makes a differance. I dont think their basic account allows credit card receipts or limits how much you can receive.

    Hiya

Limits are in place until you confirm your identity or bank, can;t remember now as I do not use as much. Basically you confirm identity and limit will be lifted - they wont upgrade you or anything but the reason I told you to go to limits was to read about them!

Click the word limits next to your name and see what it says - it was have a monetary amount!

No need to ring tesco, they are fine!

But you're missing the point, how are you getting the money to the seller, as they will not be able to withdraw unless their limits are removed plus the money may be held for upto 42 days......

I think you need to be looking into this a little more.......

Yes, this would cause a problem, you can only have 1 paypal account linked to 1 bank account, for this to work your OH would also have to open another bank account.

My partner does have an account that was my mistake.

And as the the money gettin to the seller i was thinking...

my partner could send the money to my paypal and then i would withdraw that and then either write cheque or get cash for the seller.

    OR

I will just ask the seller to verify his paypal and then won't his limits be raised then too?? ....

this is becoming a lot of hassle!!!!!!!!!
