news from randomer land.........O H has boxed up a load of books to sell to fund buying a camera. I feel a bit sorry because he loves those books. I am trying to get him to get a decent price and not just accept £20 from a dealer.

Not OS at all but DS is upstairs with his first girlfriend who speaks to me as if I've known her years. Why are young people so confident?:o

    Afternoon everybody,

Really warm here today, overcast but pleasant.

Leftover spag bol for dinner to-night...back to six people so will have to hope it stretches...should be ok.

Very tired to-day....was reading until after 4.30 am so suppose it is to be expected! Should take a nap I suppose, might in a bit but want to do a few things around the house so maybe guilt will win!

I expect you're just really easy to talk to :D I hope your OH manages to get a good price for the books.

Haribo - Glad you're ok despite your hair accident

halight - You will find the twins are shorter of energy while they've got their colds, but they will soon be better and back to their old selves. Hope your head's not too bad today.

wmf - Well done with the garden, I'm sure it looks much bigger now.

thriftlady - Hope DS has/had a nice afternoon and that he enjoyed his birthday.

taplady - Good luck to DS with the new job :j

    ((((HUGS)))) to all in need.

Had a rather non-OS time yesterday :o - Went to Bluewater and had lunch, then went to see Harry Potter (Alan Rickman superb as always, Helena Bonham Carter having a whale of a time), then as it had been a long film (it ran for nearly two-and-a-half hours, and we'd been sitting in there waiting for it to start for half an hour beforehand - next time we'll check what time the actual film is due to start!) we had coffee and a piece of cake :o It all made a nice change though, as we very rarely go to the cinema.

Today I managed to persuade DH to ring the Council to arrange about having some bulky rubbish taken away (none of it recyclable or charity shop-able). Their nice lady will ring him to arrange a time to come round with her clipboard, note everything down and give us a quote (she's known in the family as "Wendy-with-the-clipboard" :p Very nice lady.) I can cope with things being in my way for another week or so now that I know they're going to be taken away :j:j:j

He's currently filling in a long form to apply for a review of his War Pension, with his Elbow CD on loudly (neighbours are out!). He says it helps him concentrate, like a teenager with their homework :p

Dinner will be pork stirfry with mixed peppers and spring onions - we were going to have it yesterday but then as we'd had a cooked lunch we didn't need a cooked dinner as well.

Hope everyone has a good evening.

Hi, have had a really busy few days here. DS1 is on an intensive swimming course which has already given him so much more confidence in the water that I've booked him in for another one:j. We also did a bouncy crafts session at the local sports centre which they both enjoyed. I had decluttered lots of stuff and put some of it on freecycle, had people respond who wanted it, but they haven't arranged to collect which is bugging me. I just want the stuff gone:mad:!
I went out for dinner last night, the company was good, but I wouldn't go back to the restaurant again :o. Tonight we have HM burgers. Tomorrow is more swimming, going to the local Botannical Gardens with friends and if I have the energy more sorting and decluttering. We don't really have enough room at the moment, so we're trying to decide whether to move or to build an extension, but to start off with I'm trying to get rid of stuff to gain a little more space.

    Hello All

Been useless again lately in getting on here. I've been really busy job hunting. Applied for another job today. Hoping something will come along soon.

Having sweet & sour chicken tonight with leftovers from Monday's roast. Got a couple of bagels under the grill now for a snack. I need to make a lemon drizzle cake later as I've a friend coming over tomorrow and I've promised them a cake! I also hope to make a banana bread.

Got my neighbour coming over in the morning to do a card making session as I've a garden party to go to on Sunday to try and sell some cards and jewellery. Then my other friend's coming over in the afternoon so I can do a press release for his up coming book:T So happy for him that it's being published.

I have no work at all this week :( so trying to keep busy by doing some self promotion.

    Hope everyone's ok

Work for me today, spending 3 days in a different department on an attachment. I had taken a file to, and spent ages typing it up, only for a glitch in the system to lose it all. Oh well, be there for me to do again tomorrow!

Rain, rain and more rain here. Spoke to the children last night, they are in Devon with their Dad. They said it had been raining a lot there to.

No idea what I'm having for tea, fridge is looking a bit bare. Seems such a faf to cook for one.

Its really easy to cook. Slice your cheese up thin and place it on your nucooked chicken breast. Then rap around the uncooked bacon and place in a hot oven untill cook. If you wont you could also do this under the grill or one of them baby gorge things.
You will really like it its well worth doing.

Halight, I sometimes do a slightly different version:

Cut a small slot into the chicken breast, push cheese into it (soft cheese with garlic & herbs is lovely) and then wrap the bacon round it......
