Sorry to hear you're still under the weather Candygirl. xxx
Just posting again as my meal plan has changed,
OH has been given a huge filleted halibut by one of his customers as a little bonus so we're having THIS with HG watercress, HG new potatoes and HG salad.<---- Yes, that is a smug smile but I love meals like this. :j
Sunny but showery here so we're not going to risk going too far. The girls are at the park with the pup (within sight of the house) and when they get back we're doing some craft stuff.

I emptied my penny jar, I had £34 in there, it's now safely in the bank, unfortunately I now have one arm longer that the other from the weight of the cash.

Afternoon all
Well the heavens have opened here and it is pouring down. I am surprised it lasted as long as this without rain as it has been grey and overcast all morning, what a letdown this summer is turning out to be.
Bm will go on later and washing is now on airer - it is about 6 months now since I used the td but don't know whether I will be able to keep this up when it gets back to winter (although we might not notice much difference with the weather being like this now lol)
Salmon, new pots and no sure what veg yet for tea tonight, so nice and easy.
Have a good day everyone
xxx"Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to........"Dieting ........... is no piece of cake!!!!:D

Hi all
I've just ripped an enormous hole in my jeans by catching the tie at the back on the radiator in the office - luckily I had a needle and thread in the bag so could repair it - very OSEven the right colour so it's barely noticable
I have my tickets now, so am panicing less! Stef - they only send Reading tickets out the day before now?! I'd be an absolute basketcase!
I bought a CD in a charity shop yesterday for 25p whilst waiting for the bus, turns out is a limited edition collectable version and worth around £45 - I only bought it because I liked the sleeve artworkI am keeping it for the time being, but have been thinking of clearing out some of my rarer CDs and vinyls (I have a lot of early industrial and electronica, some of which is still shrink wrapped - I admit to being a bit of a geek and having two copies of some things so one is kept unplayed and sealed, even though I knew nothing about it at the time) and this might just spur me to make the effort. I don't think I'll get away with putting picture discs and autographs on the wall at home.
Still very tired as I've been working silly hours. I am quite stressed at home - OH's apathy over his divorce is driving me mad and I know I am staying late to avoid another altercation. *sigh* The residency issue is a weight of my mind, mainly because he has all his documents back now.
I have to go and collect my bike saturday from the garage.
Have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Afternoon OS chums,
I have the OT coming today so just flying in to say hi to everyone and that I haven't had time to read the thread.
We had people for dinner last night and they had never been to our place before so we had a big tidy up and moved the dining table out a bit to fit 6 around it. I was really pleased cos my OH showed them the garden before bringing them in and they were all raving about it on and off all night so I felt really good! Then we had a fun evening eating a lot and laughing til my tummy ached and they even persuaded me to sing something and I haven't done any real singing for about 7 yrs since I had to give up gigging so it was strange hearing my (albeit rusty) voice, but they seemed to like it!
Picked four smallish heads of broccolli and am making that our supper - olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, toss it all around and stick in a hot oven til it singes round the edges and it is delicious!
Severe weather warnings in the bay - lots of ships sheltering.. glad we did a few hours in the garden yesterday cos it looks like it will be a few days til we can get out again. Feel sorry for the grockles.
Love andto anyone who needs one, I hope the rest of the day is a good one.
Diva.xTo be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.0 -
well HIMs first week as part of the great unwashed, is going ok....insofar as i havent killed him yet :rotfl:, though he has started on all the little jobs that have been needed doing for ages, and applied for about 27 jobs in 2 days, so i cant really call him lazy.
on a better note, bread just out of the oven, lots of biccys/cakes, and cheese straws made from stuff i already had in so no spend
even better, i used up left over mince and veg and made a pasta ery type dish for mon tea then added chilli powder to the leftover leftovers, and had that with rice last night so leftovers went for 3 meals for 5 of us :j:j:j
i think im getting the hang of this OS larkIf we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

Good to read what you are all up to. (((hugs))) to those under the weather.
Went out to collect Tamiflu for poor DH today. He's been ill since Mon morning - started with high temp and being sick, then aching. Felt a bit better last night but not well again today so we phoned up the helpline and the chap thinks he has probably got it. No sore throat and cold though
Stopped to buy some eggs and tiny delicious plums at a garden stall. I stood at the kitchen sink just rinsing the plums and eating them so any other plans for them won't happen!
I've been busy gardening yesterday and today. We had a viewer for the house a couple of weeks ago who said the garden was too small for her. I've looked at it and can see that I can make it 'bigger' by clearing some of the ivy on the fence, which was v thick and growing chunkily outwards. 4 bags of it went to the tip!! I'm now working on cutting back the shrubs and have one bag already. It's looking much better already and gives me a free much needed workout:p.
Plans for tea include chicken soup for the invalid followed by chicken salad and new pots.
Hot and sunny here

Is it worth the estate agents calling her back & asking if she'd like another look?0 -
Afternoon all.
Get Well wishes to wmf's DH and anyone else with the piggy flu.
Mr LW is w*rking from home today, so we've had the customary Shepherd Spy for lunch.
I then proceeded to frog-march him into the [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] spare room to help me clear out the filing tray. It's not easy for me to get to some of the files with my dodgy back, as there are demijohns of elderflower wine, 2 crates full of jars of HM jam and sundry stuff that's waiting to go to the charity shop in the way, but he was able to winkle himself in there to the files. So that's one rotten job out of the way.
We have to go into town when he finishes today, to get his hair cut; much longer and I'll be able to tie a ribbon in it for him!:D While he's doing that, I'll try and wheel myself down to Holland & Barrett for some jelly crystals; used the last we had yesterday, and I can't get the veggie ones in the supermarket.
Thank goodness Central MK is all under cover; it's persisting down out there today!
((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
