Managed to get a £9.50 fare for the sat am ( 6.07 am !!!! ) so all's good,
    Via Virgin.
Site is well cool as it saves your fave journeys which is the one I shall be booking on a reg basis ( I'm sure the others do too but as I booked with this Co they are the one I base this upon )

    Thanks to all.

  • Hi birthdaygirls,

Try looking up fares splitting your tickets at Birmingham New Street. To Preston on the 12th I can see 2 direct trains, 1515 SOU - PRE 1942 still has some Virgin Value Advance Single B band fares available at £25 each.

I'm planning to visit bro in London for birthday next month and would appreciate ticket buying advice from you experts. Thaks in advance.

Leaving Liverpool Lime st on Saturday 17th November around 6.00am (could poss leave Friday pm if it were cheaper!)

Leaving London on Sunday 18th November preferably between 4pm and 7pm so not home too late but again could poss do monday for a big saving!!

Will be travelling with daughter aged 10, don't have a family railcard at the mo but guess would be best to get one?

Any help for an amatuer like me would be great. Thanks.
  • I'm planning to travel to Teddington on Friday the 12th of October. I can leave from either Nottingham or Loughborough but need to be there by 12 midday. I can return anytime after 5pm as well. The cheapest return I'm getting is £46ish. Can anyone help please?

Can anyone tell me how to get to Birmingham from Bristol on the 13th October?! It seems that the train system has gone mad.. the national rail website says I have change about 4 times just to get to Birmingham.. or go to Reading and change.. or go to Gloucester and get a bus!!! but all this takes much more time! You used to be able to get a direct train and it would take just 90 minutes.

Is it gonna be like this all the time until the new Arriva service starts in November? This is a damn nuisance!

No - every weekend possibly (engineering work) but not in the week. Would have been the same with Arriva - nothing to do with the operator. It's Railtrack

That fare looks dirt cheap to me - don't know where you got it from but I can't find anything anywhere near that.

However - try splitting at Bedford. From Bedford you will be able to get a one day travel card to London that will include zones 1-6 - ie including Teddington.

    I've been Money Tipped!
OK - I've tried a couple of combinations to reduce the price but I can't get any lower than £69.05 so far.

Going from Leamington Spa to Newcastle at 10ish am 22/10 - 1 adult and 1 child with Family Railcard

    Returning on 24/10 from 11am

I also have a YP railcard but that didn't make much(if any) of a dent.

If I split journey at New St then it adds a tenner onto the cost.

Anyone help me get any lower than this - I know it's not a bad price so far but this is MSE - LOL
