Gotcha.
You can still get it down to £100 total - for two presumably? - by coming back earlier on the Wednesday
The Virgin tickets look to have either sold out or not been released. Given that there IS one on the Wednesday probably the former.0 -
Hi, Is there any tips on getting cheaper fares to Manchester Airport from Sheffield, Leaving 1011 and with a Y-P Railcard. Standard class, but wont say no to first if not much difference... lolWe’ve had to remove your signature because your opinion differs from ours. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why you can not have your own opinion on here and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

There's an airgetaway ticket, but there is no railcard discount on it so can't think of anything to help you.0 -
I've had success in the past booking a ticket to Manchester then a separate ticket to the airport
alternatively get a National Express coach instead0 -
How much is the "Airgetaway" ticket, I cant see it on AvantixWe’ve had to remove your signature because your opinion differs from ours. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why you can not have your own opinion on here and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Can anyone PLEASE help me??
I am on the bones of my !!!!! but I need to make a trip to London to attend a relatives exhibition and I can find a cheap train option. I am scared the longer I leave it the more expensive tickets will become. The cheapest I can find is around £75 but I was hoping for around half that price. _pale_
My itinerary is as follows:
From: Barrow-in-Furness
To: London
Go: Friday 21st September 2007
Time: Want to travel as early as possible ie 6am - 8am
Return: Sunday 23rd September 2007
Time: Flexible.
Travellers: 5 Adults
I have a young persons railcard and 2 other travellers would buy one if it was worth there while.
I am new to this so if anyone could please help me I would be forever grateful!!

Barrow-in-Furness - Lancaster (Transpennine Express) = £8.00 pp return (using a young person railcard)
Lancaster - London (Virgin Trains) = £37.00 pp return (using a young person railcard)
Total per person = £45.00 (your £75 is for not using a young person railcard!)
5 Adults = £225.00
I tried looking for the cheap advance single tickets too but they seem non-existent on this journey :wall:0 -

I think your railcard can't be used before 9:30am, although there might be exceptions.
I think you'll need to buy a season ticket (weekly or monthly), I think the prices are available at www.nationalrail.co.uk. It's going to be expensive, I'd say £150 per week as a very rough guess.
Actually you may find it cheaper to stay in a cheap B&B/houseshare during the week.
What's more, a journey of that length every day will be exhausting.0
