Whilst the chances of detection are slim they are not completely zero with unfortunate consequences if they are

For example at Reading, where Reading West tickets are deliberately rejected at times.
  • Hi
I have to travel from Plymouth to Birmingham NEC on Saturday 5th November returning on the same day. I need to be there for 10.00am approx and can leave anytime after 5.00pm.
I have been trying to split the journey to try and reduce the cost (a return ticket is currently a whopping £81) but I don't really know where to split the journey.
Can anyone help me please :o

Any or all of Exeter, Bristol, Cheltenham and New Street

Or for another route try Reading and Banbury

I've done a search for the terms in the subject heading and found nowt, so I hope I'm not repeating an already-answered question.

Excited by the £1 Megatrain / Megabus tickets suggested by "cheap-coach-train-ticket-deals" on the "deals" section, I had a look around but found no £1 tickets. I'm sure they're there, but just not for the route I'm interested in.

Is a there a way of finding which routes are likely to sell for a quid? Got the missus pestering me for them cheap tickets.

    Anton

I am travelling from Manchester to Edinburgh next week, spending 4 days there, £1 each way plus 50p booking fee. Setting off at 0900 going up and 15.40 coming back, I booked these seats on 25th August as I was originally looking at advance train fares, so maybe you just have to get in early to get the £1 tickets.

Getting there by 10am will be a bit of a challenge.

Exeter St Davids and Cheltenham are usually worth looking at for splitting.
There are no tricks. Its a long slog. Just have to try all places where the train stops.

You might find Advance Singles between Exeter and Plymouth for £3.00 each way.

Station unfortunately - or on board the train if it's permitted in your area.
