Just seen the information on GroupSave - are these available to buy online?

Would be wanting Sheffield (or even Doncaster) to London.

    TIA

They are available Sheffield to London on East Midlands trains but do not appear to be bookable online - at the station or by phone. (This is despite their website offering the option - but it doesn't give any reduction oif you include it.)

East Coast (from Doncaster) don't offer groupsave at all

There are some services on which groupsave is barred:

However, this journey should be OK. I couldn't get the FGW website to do it either.

All I want is a qote for 1 adult and one child from Newbury park near ilford to Westminster return peak time about 5.00pm. The website will not recognise the Newbury park for some reason any quotes appreciated no travel card though

    From the Tfl Single fare finder;

    Newbury Park - Westminster
    Adult Cash - £5
    Adult Oyster - £2.50
    Child Cash 5 - 10 yrs old - £2.50
    Child Oyster 5 - 10 yrs old - Free
    Child Cash 11 - 15 yrs old - £2.50
    Child Oyster 11 - 15 yrs old - £0.65

As that's the Single fare you need to double it, so it might be cheaper to get a travel card instead, unless your using an Oyster card.
Adult 1-4 Off Peak One Day travel card £7.30
Child 1-6 Off Peak One Day travel card £3

A 5-10 YO travelling with an adult is free - the £2.50 is if they are travelling alone

And child Oyster rates require the advance purchase of a £10 zip card - for a one off journey the travelcard is a lot more convenient.

Yes, those ZIP card are bit inconvenient, but if it is more than a one off journey then it could be worth it, as they've made it a lot easier now to get hold of one. You can apply here or here

But if it's a one off journey, then travelcards are best.

this is probably going to sound like a really stupid question, but I generally don't travel by train, so don't know the ins and outs of advance ticket rules etc.

If I buy an advance single ticket, without split ticketing, what happens if any of the 3 trains I have to get are late and this means I can't catch the train I'm booked on the next leg of the journey? ie an advance single Nottingham to Dundee is £58. It changes at Darlington and Haymarket (for example) If the Nottingham train is delayed and is too late into Darlington to catch my scheduled Darlington to Haymarket leg of the journey, can I use my ticket on the next train on the same route?

I beleive that in the instance that you mention that the train company has to allow you to travel. whereas with split ticketing you would face a real problem if one of the journey sections was late.
