At Basingstoke station - there's no point in advance booking for this journey. A total of £53.40 day return or £68.20 monthly return, off peak with the network railcard, route not London

I use East Coast Website but any Train Companies' website will do or Redspottedhanky.com if you have any Tesco clubcard vouchers, but avoid other third party internet vendors as they charge fees ie; trainline or raileasy.

If all 4 are travelling together, forget the Network card and ask for a "Groupsave 4" ticket at the station, or online at the SW Trains site, HERE, select groupsave4 from the railcard drop down menu under the travel details. £40.40 total for the off peak return, not via London, £35.40 if you leave after 11.30.

Any rail website will sell them

But there's no point - you save nothing and risk a cancellation fee if your plans change. Just buy them at the station before travel.

AFAIK only the SW trains website allows you to price a journey using Groupsave 3 or 4. It's a shame you have to select the appropriate GS type from the drop down menu as if you don't, or don't know of the GS option you are quoted full price.

FGW will certailly quote for groupsave - never actually bought them though. It's in the railcard option - I should have thought of it in my initial reply though.

Cross Country allow the option too.
