That's the best you are going to do that weekend.

That's because there are buses between Winchester and Basingstoke most times Saturday and Sunday.

Usually you can shave a few pounds off that, but not that weekend.

    What about National Express coaches?
Will need to change at Southampton though.

I did look at National Express but coming back on the Sunday was a trek and a half, we are only going for the 2 days, I don't want to spend it all travelling! Looks like we will just have to pay the £55 and save money elsewhere :rotfl:.
    Thank you :)

    Could someone please help me?
I need to book train tickets, Branksome to Basingstoke
If its almost £20 off with the Family Railcard you will save the same with a Network Railcard. But thats £25. So you would probably only need one more trip in the year without the children to get back the extra fiver.

Scot Rail still haven't released their after Christmas advance tickets and it's beyond the 12 week mark now... Emailed then to try and find out but it's a 7 day reponse service....

Onto the telephone then, i'm hoping the customer relations line can help as i can't find a reservation number...

I'm in the same boat as yourself, but waiting for Transpennine Express to release their Xmas and New Year advance tickets, hopefully this week.

I will keep checking everyday this week.

It's blinking annoying, at the moment I can book mum a one way ticket i just can't get her home!

Apparently Scot Rail have to wait on Horizons to release their slots or something, any day now apparently....
  • Hi, I booked an off peak return journey from Bristol Temple Meads to Penrith, with a disabled railcard for £65.40. Outward 24/12/10, return 30/12/10.

    The ticket conditions specify
    • This ticket allows travel on any permitted route.
    • Flexible ticket only valid at specific off-peak times of the day.
Does this mean I can get on an earlier/later train if required? I called the helpline but they weren't very forthcoming with information.
