London Paddington to Exeter st Davids dep 16.36 arr 19.14 advance single £42.60

Those are the cheap advance tickets and Yes you can buy them now, but remember with advance tickets you must travel only on booked trains and the price of those tickets can increase as time goes by.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -
Hello,
I'm struggling to find a cheap(er) fare for this journey:
Godalming > Bristol Temple Meads
Leaving on Thursday
Returning on Monday
I've tried spliting etc and can't get it down from £44.80 (lost my young persons card)
If anyone could point me in the right direction / explain how I can find a cheaper option, I'd be very grateful!
Thanks0 -

Go by bus, or get an Anytime Single from Godalming to Guildford at £2.80 each way.
Similarly for your return leg.
So your trip can be done for £25.60.
If you find your railcard, that goes down to £16.90.
p.s. what splitting did you try?0 -
Thanks for your help!
Tried splitting at Guildford / Reading / Swindon / Chippenham / Bath Spa.
Where do you get the advance tickets from? They haven't come up on National Rail, The Train Line or FGW? (Unless I'm being a tool and missed something - quite possible!).0 -

They are also showing on the First Great Western website.0 -
Ah, I was searching for the wrong times!
Do you happen to know how strict they are when it cones to getting the exact train (there are no cheap fares arriving by 12:30), eg is it printed on the ticket?
I have to pick up / drop off a rental minibus in Bristol, hence being awkward with times!
Thanks again for your help, I rarely use trains so am a bit clueless!0 -

You must travel on the booked trains.
How about dep Guildford 08:38, arr Bristol TM 10:38. Advance Single = £10.00.
And the return, I assume after 12:30...
Dep Bristol TM 14:00, arr Guildford 16:08. Advance Single = £10.00.0 -
Could someone please help me?
I need to book train tickets, Branksome to Basingstoke, going October 16th between 9am-10.30am. Returning 17th between 2-4pm. It is coming up at £55 which is frustrating because it is nearly £20 cheaper with our family and friends railcard. Only problem is we aren't taking our children with us (first time ever!)
Is anyone could find a cheaper solution I would really appreciate it, thank you!Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0 -

That's because there are buses between Winchester and Basingstoke most times Saturday and Sunday.
Usually you can shave a few pounds off that, but not that weekend.
What about National Express coaches?
Will need to change at Southampton though.0
