If it have been passed in the ticket barrier, it will disappear, swallowed in the ticket barrier.

The retutn ticket that I am talking about is the one of which have been checked or even have not been checked.

... I have seen a few people selling and buying it though ...

Yes we know what you are talking about - fraud.

Yes it happens - but it is not within the remit of this forum to promote it as you seem hell bent on.

Evening! I want to travel by train (2 of us) to London from Preston after 9am on 7/1/11 and come back mid afternoon on 9/1/11. Cheapest I can see at the moment is £140.20 open off-peak return total. Is that the best I am likely to see or am I better waiting for a little while? (can't seem to reserve seats so guess it is too early for that?)

    Many thanks

You are looking far far too early - cheap advance tickets with most companies haven't been released beyond mid-November. You are looking at waiting another month, maybe two.

You are too early for those dates.

Check here for when tickets might become available.

That's dirt dirt cheap for that route - buy it quick while it's still there

Which month are you talking about?
    13 September is a Monday.
    13 October is a Wednesday.
    13 November is a Saturday.
    13 December is a Monday.

Is that fare with your 16-25 railcard?
If so, it can be done cheaper.

If you are talking about November, coming back on the Monday will be cheaper, due to engineering works.

Split at Exeter St Davids. There are many Advance Singles from there to Falmouth at £3.95 each way on that Sat and Mon.

There are Advance Singles from Sheffield to Exeter StD at £15.50 each way on those days.

So total return could be £38.90.
  • Hi, I'm looking to make regular journeys from Leicester to Leagrave, Friday night to Sunday night- 2 Adults both with 16-25 Railcards. Last month it was coming up at £17 each but now has gone up to £21. Is there a cheaper fare that I'm not finding?

    Thanks.

Can anyone help me find some cheap tickets - my journey is as follows:

2 x Adults - no rail cards or other discounts.

Bristol - London leaving 13th November at around 12:00 returning the next day (14th Nov) around 16:00

The cheapest I've found is £97 which, of course, is fantasy prices - are there any tickets that actually make this journey viable?
