The daysave is a great deal, thanks!! It will come in handy one of these days very soon. Unfortunately, I need to travel this week (Thursday or Friday), so I wont be unable to book one of these for this journey.

Well, I have scoured every train company website in hope of a deal from London to Brighton. The best price I found is 27 for 2 people through South West Trains.

Next time around, I will plan ahead and get the Daysave deal. Also, the half price Network Railcard on offer right now by South West Trains (10 instead of 20) would have also been a great purchase for my journey, however the only place to buy railcard is at a South West ticket office, which in central London happens to be Waterloo (which work for this time around).

At least next time I will know how to get a much better deal!

for future reference, the best way to get to Brighton from London is the Thameslink. At the moment they are doing £6 day returns, and it's usully only £10.50 for an open return.
It stops at kings cross, farringdon, city, blackfriars and london bridge so very easy too!

I've been on their website to look for myself and it appears the cheapest returns are £27 for two people online. Is it £6 each in person on the day? If not, the cheaper option appears to be the daysave (£11 each according to the website).

Is there a way to search for the cheap tickets only, I want to travel from Reading to Leeds and Reading to Stratford-u-Avon at some point in the next month, I'll go when it is cheapest. Does a search exist that allows me to do this?

    Thanks

I have only found tickets for 2 people for £27, online and I also rang the national rail information line to confirm. How are you getting tickets for £6 each way, or £10.50 open return?

    Many thanks!

For Reading to Leeds cheap tickets can be found by searching for two singles on the National Rail website (https://www.nationalrail.co.uk) and buying Virgin Value Fares booked in advance from £12 each way or from £28 First Class each way.

For Reading to Stratford-upon-Avon, you will need to change at Leamington Spa - singles for this are from £10 each way.

Hi the offer is on posters in mainline central london stations.
There may be t&c's I am not aware of , i.e travel on specific days.
We bought £6 tickets from London Bridge station, it was a day return on a tuesday.
    I hope this helps.
