I'm trying to get back from London Euston to Liverpool on 28th August which is a friday I can't get any cheaper than £23 i know it's not that expensive but was just wondering maybe if i split them would it work out cheaper.
Can someone tell me where i could try the splits. I can't find a map of the stations.

    Thnx in advance x

Yes, and if you buy online before 6pm today via Suothern railways website, you can ge t that journey at £7.50 per adult. Or the 10:25 at only £4.50 each. They're singles.
Singles for the return journey are also available at £3, or £4.50 each.
Best bargains can be had from Southern's website... then choose "Southern trains only".

Oh My LORD was that a rush! Just managed to book the tickets at 17.59! Took forever to find the right boxes to tick! Thanks KeithP! Lets hope we dont get lost on the changes or miss a train!! :T
I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!

    Hi,

Wondering if anyone can give me some advice. I'm trying to find the cheapest way for 7 adults to travel from Newcastle to Glasgow return on 10th/11th October.

I've managed to find an £8 per person ticket for the Newcastle to Glasgow part of the trip, but tickets back are all coming up at £22 each. I've seen I can get that down to £18 by splitting the ticket at Carlisle, but would love to get it cheaper if I can!

When I look at tickets for the week before, I can see CrossCountry trains for £8.50 each, but these aren't on sale for the 11th. There are engineering works on the 11th - does that mean there won't be any cheaper tickets on sale, or is it worth me holding on in the hope there might be some cheaper tickets released nearer the time?

Any advice will be gratefully received!
    Thanks,
    Jenny

Thanks Livingthedream. I should probably be a bit more specific... I'm going up to Glasgow for a hen do, so whilst I want to be as moneysaving as possible, I think it's too much of a risk to go for such an early train! We'd probably end up missing it, and having to pay the full standard single back each!

I'm looking for something probably around 12pm at the earliest!

    Thanks again,
    Jenny

    Look on the Virgin website.
Advance Singles are available there on the 15:55 Glasgow departure for £9.00 each.
So seven people cost £63 for the return leg.

Would love advice on ways to somehow reduce the cost of my monthly expense for traveling to my job in Hemel Hempsted from Liverpool St area...£361 is a painful amount, so would love to find a saving if possible.
London Euston to Hemel Hempstead monthly season is £280.80. 2 * Zone1 Oyster journeys (Liverpool St. to Euston Sq) = £3.20 per day / ~£70 per month if you work M-F only. So total about £351. I have saved you a tenner, but you lose the travelcard element of your current season which you might use evenings/weekends.
