Hi there. I'm hoping someone in the know can help me.

I'm wanting to travel from Merthyr Vale to Milton Keynes Central on the 30th January and return on the 1st February. I know it's short notice so might be pushing my luck for cheaper fares. But if anyone can find a cheaper fare than £114 return, for 2 adults, I would be really grateful.

Tough one, I couldn't find much improvement on this. Maybe splitting at Birmingham New Street might help, but that is a risk as you will probably have to change trains there - then if you miss the connection you could be in hot water if its an advance purchase ticket.

I mucked around with coaches (and thats what you would be doing as well if you took the option) and I found a fare for £39.50 per adult (from Cardiff, so you would still need to get there) with National Express.

    Thanks for the reply.

I managed to get it a little bit cheaper by changing at Cardiff, Cheltenham Spa and Birmingham New Street. All booked now so please don't tell me if you find a cheaper way!!!

I may ask again in the future though. lol

Miller, thanks for the coach suggestion too. It's how me and my husband were going to travel when we thought we were going on our own but turns out we are taking our 3 yr old and 1 yr old now so the thought of spending almost 2 days on a coach with them, there and back, brings me out in a cold sweat. lol

Just looked on website - does the £1 national express deal only run until end March? I need Bath to London travel for Good Fri (10th April). Not showing any deals.

Kitty, try a bit nearer the time. But a Bank Holiday may be difficult.

When I was a young I remember going on a 10 hour coach journey. I don't remember it being much fun (which means it was unlikely to be fun for all the other passengers too!).

    Hi,
Does anyone know the cheapest tickets for Liverpool to Bangor. There are two of us travelling on 4th February, out in the morning, back in the evening. The cheapest I can get is £46 off-peak return for the two of us, though we can save a few pounds by splitting tickets in Chester.
    Thanks!

Yes, as you say, you can reduce the return fare to £21.10 each by splitting at Chester.
That's the best I can do. Have you looked at coaches?

Thanks for that. Unfortunately there's only one coach a day, which leaves from Bangor in the morning and Liverpool in the evening. :-(
